Stayed for two evenings myself wife and staffie dog. Very welcoming, excellent bar area with open fire. Good choice on menu with superb beers and fine choice of wines. Rooms slightly small but this is a period house after all. Very clean and comfortable bedrooms, and due to the ferry across Windermere not open at night hardly any traffic. You... More

My wife & I stayed for a weekend with our Yorskhire Terrier - being dog friendly was a huge bonus. The pub is in a beautiful setting. The staff were friendly & helpful in a laid back way, which is just what we wanted. The room was clean & comfortable, altho' not on the big side. The evening meal selection... More

I would just like to thank Anthony for looking after us on our recent visit to the Tower Bank Arms. The food and wine was excellent and the real ales made an old man very happy. It is an ideal location for walking and the scenery from the top of Wise Een Tarn was memorable. Our room was very comfortable... More

This pub was lovely, friendly staff, dog friendly, food exelllant and good value for money. Nice warm open fire, I would recommend and use this pub again. Only downside was the language from round the back was a little ripe

My wife and I were in a party of ten couples who were staying in the area for a surprise birthday party. On day one we called in for an impromptu lunch and were happy with the ambience and food of this very traditional pub. The food was good although the sandwiches were doorstop pieces of bread engulfing smallish prices... More

Love this pub! Lots of character and a lovely real fire to sit beside and enjoy the fantastic range of local real ales or the extensive wine menu. The food was outstanding and far better than we expected from a pub- restaurant quality easily! Good prices & dog friendly and a nice beer garden with great views- worth a trip... More

I love everything about the Tower bank arms. The location is right next to Beatrix Potters house in a village called near sawrey. I think sawrey is the best location your not in the tourist bustle of Windermere but your near to the ferry which is just a short trip. The atmosphere and ambience of the pub itself it perfect!... My daughter and I stayed here for a weekend, mainly to visit Hilltop. The location was absolutely perfect. Hilltop was literally at the back of the pub, fantastic! Village was quaint and people were so friendly. The owner of the Pub was brilliant. Very friendly, on first name terms, very knowledgeable about the area and walks etc. Our room was... More

Callled in on Friday afternoon for a non scheduled stop. Knowledgable Landlord. The Real Ale is as good as I have tasted in the Lakes, and I have tasted some. Unable to pay further visit on this trip, but we will return to see if the food is as good as the Beer.

We didn't stay here but ate in the pub a couple of nights whilst we stayed in a house just outside Near Sawrey (see our review for Broad Howe). First of all it's very dog friendly with dogs allowed in the bar area and a supply of dogs biscuits at the bar. The pub was warm and cosy and full... More
