We arrived to a warm welcome and found that we were staying in a really delightful country hotel, beautifully furnished and with a calm and peaceful feeling. Richard and Margaret could not do enough to make us feel at home. We enjoyed the most enjoyable evening dinners on both evenings, and Richard went to great lengths to more than satisfy... More

Very nicely situated and in easy reach of a number of lakeside villages. A warm welcome , very comfortable room although it was close to the kitchen and although it is a quiet hotel the peach room could be noisy. Very good food, and only a minor criticism was whilst there was a choice at dinner it was limited to... More

This was a Christmas treat from our son and we have just returned from a wonderful and peaceful weekend at Ees Wyke. Although on the quieter side of Windermere we were within driving distance of Hawkshead and Ambleside and close to the ferry to Bowness. Stunning views from bedroom window and overlooking Esthwaite water. We stayed in the Sunshine room... More

We fully subscribe to the positive comments in the House's VISITORS book. Surely, the correct approach and state of mind are required when considering spending some time in such a unique environment, where the owners, Margaret & Richard succeed wonderfully well in offering an unparalleled and unpretentious welcome.

An excellent location on the quieter side of Lake Windermere, ideal for chilling out if you want a relaxing break. The house is set in quiet grounds with good uniterrupted views of the fells to the East and some easy or more challenging walking from the front door - including a stroll to the local pub (Tower Bank Arms) which... Stayed here for two very cold and windy nights. The house however was toasty warm and gorgeous, it's tastefully finished and has stunning views from every room we went in. We received a lovely warm welcome from Richard on our arrival. Had a meal in the Tower bank arms the first night ( best pub meal we have had for... More

My wife and I were treated to a 2 night stay as a gift, we managed to lose the confirmation e-mail over Christmas and turned up prepared to have to cover some of the cost. Our hosts were brilliant, we were welcomed and shown to out lovely room, a nice view from the windows along the valley and a nice... More

We were very pleased with our 2 night stay at this small hotel. The views from the dining room were breathtaking and the food was excellent. Typical of the lakeland area the hotel was a quiet retreat with Cosy open fires and a mixture of chintz settees and period furniture. Our room was warm and welcoming with all the complimentary... The Dining Room has a perfect Lake District view. Parkland, lake and distant hills. The owner told us the delivery people say the same and they know all the local hotels. There is a good balance of friendly informality and traditional service. Food was excellent. If only on B and B the Tower Bank Arms, Beatrix Potter's local pub is... More

This is one of the friendliest hotels we have stayed in, hospitality was superb. it could not of been in better surroundings, The food was excellent although a little pricey. one drawback there was no bar so it felt as though there was no focal area in the hotel. A ten minute walk to the village pub at night proved... More
