I stayed 2 nights with a group of friends on a cycling trip and we ate in the hotel both nights. The room was very nice with a separate shower room. There was no bath but that suited my needs and the shower was extremely powerful. The chocolate brownie with the tea and coffee facilities was also a nice touch.... More

As soon as we walked in I knew I'd enjoy our stay. Cuckoo Brow Inn is full of old-world character. I understand the rooms had recently been renovated, and ours was really nice - very comfortable and clean and with a stylish modern bathroom. The views from our room were just gorgeous, the food was excellent, and the location was... More

Stayed here by accident booked in at 11pm at night, staff couldn't have been more helpful, great rate offered, x couple of drink before bed and after a long drive and a lovely breakfast. Fantastic for dogs as they are very welcome even at the breakfast table.

Somehow or other I hadn't realised that this would be such a doggy hotel. I'm not a big fan I'm afraid. We were the only couple without at least one dog when we stayed. As meals were taken in the bar it meant all the dogs were around in the restaurant too. Some being fed at table, some sat on... More

The staff at Cuckoo Brow manage to strike a balance between creating a laid back, relaxed atmosphere while working hard in the background to ensure their guests enjoy a comfortable stay and their needs are met. They were true to their word when they say that children, dogs and muddy boots are welcome. We stayed with our one year old... More

I remember its predecessor, the Sawrey Hotel. Much money has been spend completely refurbishing both bar and bedrooms to a good standard. Food and beer are very good, bedrooms modern, comfortable and clean, but I was most impressed by the caring attitude of the staff. Having a dog allergy, I had asked to be given a room not used for... I was staying at the Hotel while I photographed a wedding, so was very much a business stay. Jess showed me to my room and apologised for some scaffolding outside my window as they were having work done and later treated me to a pint and a packet of crisps for the inconvenience, I'm easily pleased! The room was modern... More
