What a find! We stayed with Margery and Russell for 2 nights and had a wonderful time. They have a secluded and beautiful spot amongst native Beech - a marvelous setting for a very inviting and comfortable home. Margery and Russell were superb hosts...we really enjoyed our lengthy chats over Margery's outstanding home cooking and Russell's excellent barista-quality coffee! The... More

We enjoyed 2 nights here recently and had a pleasant experience with some highlights (as others have pointed out) including marg's breakfast, the best coffee we had in our two week trip around NZ, and a very comfortable bed. Will certainly recommend to friends and family and if we are in the area again will be staying here if we... More

Hi Richard, it was all our pleasure having you stay at our place, The Brown trout here can be elusive and can definitely test your skills and your patience sometimes. There are some very good trouts ones to be had in the rivers and the lake, that make it very worthwhile for future trips to our beautiful area. Look forward... More

Russell and Margery were wonderful, welcoming hosts. Their home is beautiful and comfortable and I cannot fault our stay here. Russell and Margery truly deserve the fabulous ratings they have here. The surroundings are fabulous and the food was perfect.

St Arnaud B&B is nicely tugged away behing the trees and with a wonderful garden full of flowers. The house is very cozy, made all of wood and with lots of personal touch, We came with four kids and Margery and Russell took great care of us. The breakfast is excellent.

Wonderful location and fabulous hospitality from hosts plus exquisite Burmese cats and dog! Our 2 night stay was way too short. Recommended as a base for lots of walking activities. Margery and Russell are very informative and also create a relaxed atmosphere by making you feel at home immediately on arrival. Highly recommended.

St Arnaud House is a beautiful timber home set in the beech forest surrounding Lake Rotoiti in the Nelson Lakes National Park. Russell and Margery are welcoming hosts - friendly and knowledgable about the area. Waking in the comfy bed to the sound of the native bird song, as well as the smell of a hot cooked breakfast was exceptional.... More

We stayed at St Arnaud House for 2 nights. Margery and Russell are wonderful hosts. Never intrusive, warm and welcoming, good conversationalists. Their home is spacious and comfortable. We hiked Nelson Lakes Park during the day and looked forward to rest and relaxation at their B&B in the evenings. The beds were great. Best sleep in our four weeks in... More

We stopped for a night in St Arnaud on our way to Malborough and are delighted that we chose Russell and Margery'swonderful B&B. Their house is set in lovely grounds and we were welcomed by Russell and a chorus of Tuis. As soon as we crossed the threshold we were offered a cup of tea and the hospitality continued until... My husband and I recently stayed two nights at the St. Arnaud House B&B. Staying with Russell and Margery felt like discovering family you never knew (but always wished) you had! We felt welcome from the moment we arrived. The house itself is charming and cozy - a lakeside, mountain retreat tucked away in the forest with a gorgeous garden... More

We spent two nights and 3 lovely days in this pleasant, lakeside B&B next to Kerr Lake! 1.5 hours south of Nelson, NZ. Russell and Margery are excellent hosts, good cooks, and share their home completely. Plenty of hiking, strolling around the lake, and relaxing. There is a pleasant restaurant (the only one!) 5 mins down the trail. Marg's breakfasts... More
