We were warmly welcomed and enjoyed our 4 nights in Saint Arnaud House very much. Margery and Russell are very good hosts and we immediately felt at home. Breakfast and dinner were very tasty and plentiful. We 've also got tips for trips and walks in the area. We enjoyed our stay at Saint Arnaud House and we highly recommend... More

St Arnaud house was our first experience of a New Zealand B&B and it certainly set a high standard. The room was luxurious and comfortable, but what I most remember is the food - from tea with homemade cakes and fudge on arrival, a dinner to rival a high quality restaurant, and a huge breakfast. Margery is an excellent cook.... More

Margery and Russell were delightful hosts. They are very warm and welcoming, very willing and able to help with questions, suggestions, directions, etc. Their dog Ruby is the dearest gem and even the cats will come snuggle with you in the living room; they seem to especially prefer men guests. Margery's breakfasts are tremendous...stuff yourself and skip lunch. Delicious! We... More

Jeannie and I stayed in the upstairs room, which was quiet, lots of room, well ventilated, nice views, comfy bed... What a fine experience we had visiting for three nights with Russ and Margery at the St. Arnaud House B&B: - Yummy breakfasts and dinners, with great company - A living room table that was just right for my computer... As soon as we arrived at St Arnaud House homestay B&B and were welcomed by Russell with a cup of tea and homemade biscuits (our choice - he did offer us a real drink!) we were made to feel as if we were family friends rather than paying guests. Russell and Margery's hospitality is peerless, with friendly conversation, great local... More

We visited St Arnaud knowing little about the place. It is a beautiful spot, great for walkers. We stayed one night at St Arnaud House B&B and I can honestly say it was great. Margery and Russell are really nice and full of great conversation and hospitality. Their place is set amongst beautiful NZ bush and hundreds of birds. I... More

We stayed at some lovely B&B's during our 3 weeks in NZ but we just had to vote Margery and Russell as the best. We felt so at home and woke up to the smell of Margery's delicious home made muffins every morning. The breakfasts were superb as were the evening meals we had with them too. The room was... More

From the moment we arrived it felt like we were part of the family. Margery and Russell were very welcoming and made us feel right at home. We had the 'Bellbird' room which, though not overly large, was very comfortable. Breakfast was a great selection of cereals, fruit and yogurt in addition to eggs, bacon, tomato and mushrooms. We chose... More

What a great time we had with Margery and Russell at St Arnaud House, their gorgeous home in the forest by Lake Rotoiti, Nelson Lakes. The wildlife was amazing, the room was spacious, comfortable and beautiful, the meals were delicious and the hospitality was the best we've ever encountered in a B&B. Thank you so much for making our stay... More

We stayed with Russell and Margery for one night on our way to the West coast. We had a lovely welcome and Russell was very interesting and knowledgeable about both the local area and the country as a whole. The evening meal was delicious and we were very sorry to only have the one night. We loved it and would... More
