We spent three nights staying at this hotel while we visited Dieulefit and other nearby towns. Our room was clean and tidy with a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains. While I didn’t take a dip in the pool, I did sit poolside to read. We had both dinner there one evening and breakfast one morning. Both were excellent. The restaurant was particularly impressive. The staff were all pleasant and helpful. The rooms a simple, clean and tidy. Had all the things we need and the closets were stocked with extras. It’s located on the grounds of castle ruins which creates an interesting set of grounds to explore. It was quite warm while we were there and they don’t have A/C, but they did provide a fine that met the need. We will certainly visit again.

I booked a room at the last minute and asked for a room on the ground floor as we had to bring our elderly dog - to be honest, the comfort room ( number 2) was rather small for 2 people plus a dog. No way to do my yoga! The room was also below the restaurant so some noise from the restaurant above and as the staff cleared up. luckily, by 11 am all was quiet though. we loved the hotel though, the situation, the service, and the restaurant dinner was superb. Breakfast on the terrace was a reat as well. we will happily go back but will ask for a larger room in a different location

Welcoming and professional service Excellent food and sublimely peaceful. Hotel has great character and outstanding views from the terrace where dinner and breakfast is served. Worth a detour if your visiting Drôme or Provence.

As we arrived at The hotel Les Hospitaliers we received a very warm welcome which set the tone for our entire experience..It is described as one of the Logis Hotel de Charm and our five day stay revealed The extent to which the restaurant would go to present outstanding breakfast and dinner meals..overwhelming quality and such freshness of the seasonal vegetables and fruits..our room was very comfortable and inviting..we wandered the area around the village with awe at the magnificent views which were available..the staff simply were outstanding in their warmth and friendliness..we would not hesitate to return to this very special hotel

Everything about Les Hospitaliers is marvelous, the view, the rooms, the food, the staff! Bravo! Location and view are superb! Poet Laval is a beautiful little stone village which tumbles down the hill in a most charming manner. We loved every minute of our stay there.

Hiking great in the area. Lovely town nearby. Room was large and clean with nice views. Staff was kind and helpful. It helped that we knew a bit of French, but fear not. Google translate was helpful if the Wi-Fi was working. That was my only complaint, Wifi was pretty weak, but it was a good opportunity to put away the phones

We had dined here 15 years ago with teenagers, mmmm - but on this trip we were given Room 15 which was very clean, had a lovely view and was very quiet . Les Hospitaliers is very near the top of Poet Laval , within 50 yards of the Donjon / Commanderie of the old fort.Walking round the 13th century Commanderis very intersting and the Hotel is right in the centre of the action .Dinner - the Hotel has a lovely dining terrace with great views over the valley. Service was good and cheerful. The menu is smallish. We had Salmon Tartare as a starter which was very small. Mains - Pork Poitrine with large truffle flakes-, which was fussily prepared but very good and vegetarian Ravioli , which was small . The wine list was large , Rhone Valley wines , Burgundies but plenty of other French wines, we had a lovely Chateauneuf Du Pape. We didnt have a Dessert but Coffee on the viewing terrace came with lovely Petits Fours. The restaurant is lovely but portion sizes rather small , say yes to the offered bread. This is a lovely Hotel . Only a handful of parking spaces at the Hotel but 100 yards away is a free car park with 30-40 spaces. We didnt have breakfast as we left early the next day for the 585 mile journey back to Eurotunnel Coquelles.

The location in an historic site was superb. Our superior room was large but tired and somewhat dated - eg handheld shower over bath. The food was over fussy, expensive and with a very limited choice - in short pretentious without achieving what they had presumably set out to do. Reception was very friendly but the restaurant service was poor - we and other tables were brought the wrong order more than once. The order was taken in a hurry and then long waits. Finally we did not appreciate having to sit outside on a particularly chilly evening.

We had the chefs menu and the wine pairing. Really very good. There is a floor next to the terrace which does not seem as intimate but perhaps that is a different menu? In any case watching the sunset w/a delicious local aperitif followed by the unhurried service… I only wish we had stayed here. The was an antique car rally taking place – Morgan’s – and the folks were having dinner party next door – really not too raucous and there was space to accommodate them. Added to the fun really seeing those lovely old cars parked near the ruins nearby. Super evening.
