We would highly recommend , without reservation this fine hotel. Our original booking was for the cottages which was perfectly pleasant but to our delight we were upgraded to the splendour of the main hotel. The hotel has been restored to a very high standard without compromising the architectural features of the original monestary. The atmosphere is very calm and... More

First off, we selected this hotel for it's online feeling of luxury; perhaps a touch of elegance and quiet. However, it was clearly our worst hotel experience during a two week two-week visit to lovely Sicily. My partner and I are very experienced travelers. We have spent both small and large amounts of money on travel accommodations. This was truly... More

We booked dinner in this amazing hotel steeped in history. The location is set in a quiet area of Ragusa's countryside and the facilities also include a small private airfield. The ambiance, food quality, service and value was outstanding. I would definitely return to this hotel.

We visited the Hotel's restaurant for dinner and were offered a great choice of food, the service was exceptional and the ambiance is simply stunning. The chef visited our table to check on whether we were satisfied with the food.

Put simply, this is a great place to stay when in southeast Sicily. The property needs some repairs and tidying up (not much) to earn that fifth star. The rooms are very nice and the entire property is very quiet. We visited in November for three nights and it was a joy to read a book by the fireplace with... More

This is a great hotel for many reasons, (its setting, design, comfort etc.) but the quality of the staff and their sense of quiet hospitality makes it truly exceptional. We needed a restful autumn break, and had been disappointed that several other choices in Sicily were shut for November. It is testimony to the Ermeo della Giubiliana management's priority of... This is a great location in the countryside, within historical surroundings. With all the advantages of the countryside, but close to Ragusa. Breakfast was tremendous (for Italy). Very friendly people at the reception. We received an upgrade without asking. The room was ok, but clearly started to age (regarding 5* positioning), with some bizarre smell (of humidity ?). We heard... More

The rooms are that of a good 4 star country inn, but the staff and restaurant are 5 stars in quality. Our room, moderate in size and decor, had a charming outdoor terrace overlooking the garden and pool. The staff at reception are warm, welcoming and helpful. Excellent and extensive breakfast buffet. The highlight was our two dinners. Their young... More

What springs to mind is the attention to detail and personal service that starts way before your arrival, I had several requests for our stay and the concierge worked to make sure all was in place, with flawless communication. This means alot when trying to arrange things from a distance. Upon arrival we welcomed with a drink and then shown... More

We spent a marvelous three days at Eremo della Giubiliana in Sept. The villa is beautifully furnished and has a lovely poolside. The staff and restaurant was particularly commendable. The front desk manager went to Ragusa to provide a pistachio cake for my birthday. The young chef, Giorgio, is remarkable. His cuisine was the best we sampled in all of... More
