Tried several pubs and hotels one Monday lunchtime whilst walking to find them all closed. Then stumbled on the unicorn - very nice and welcoming. Lunch snacks and full menu were offered - chose a ham sandwich which was very nice with crisps and a small salad. Also a local brew on the hand pump (cant remember the name -... More

Prompted to call in one Monday evening whilst passing as it looked so welcoming all lit up! As soon as we entered we were greeted by a very friendly and welcoming female member of staff behind the bar. On enquiring whether we could order food we were promptly given menu's, shown the 'specials' board that gave an additional choice of... More

Was treated to a meal - excellent in all respects - service, taste and presentation. Well done - would highly recommend. Very busy even on a Thursday evening. Restaurant was full, but were able to eat in the bar area - very pleasant. Best home-made chips tasted ever!

Having passed the Unicorn on a number of occasions we decided to call in due to it's bright appearance. We were met by an extremely nice member of staff, but when we asked if we could have dinner they appeared hesitant and promptly disappeared for @ 5 minutes, returning to say they did. There were a number of table's set... More

At long last, new management that know what they're doing!! Fantastic evening spent in the pub with a local singer keeping the crowd going. Tasty meal (Hunters chicken & homemade chicken goujons) which was reasonably priced. Enjoyed it that much we went back for Sunday lunch the very next day. Was warned that "the plate was hot" & they were... More

Open for food on a Monday at 8pm, friendly, quick service, pub grub. This review has to be 200 characters long...what more can I say. All tables were the same, no alcohol free beer, but hey it was open and I got a meal.

A place I'd definitely visit again due to the wide variety of food, which I found very tasteful. The service, I thought was excellent, especially the politness of the staff. A very clean bar and restaurant area, and I would highly recommend it. Overall, very satisfied!

The Unicorn has been re-open since earlier this year serving drinks and social activities only. (there is a function room.) However, two weeks ago they started to serve cooked meals. I called after word of mouth told me of the change and was pleasantly surprised. The menu is basic Pub Grub but cooked well and very reasonably priced. The atmosphere... More

Although the Unicorn is 25 pounds sterling a night per person ($46), you might want to find somewhere else if you are looking for comfort and cleanliness. The Unicorn is a pub on the high street in Caersws, and although the pub staff were very friendly and made us quite welcome, the accomodations left a lot to be desired. Although... More
