From check in to departure nothing was too much trouble for the family / staff at this hotel The room was very recently refurbished, very clean & comfortable with plenty of space, and tea / coffee making facilites. The en suite bathroom was fitted with power shower and was spotless. Superb views over Cullen Bay and the beach / golf... more

We only stayed one night, and were too late for dinner, although it smelled pretty good. The hotel was in pretty good shape on the surface, although the rear entrance from the car park was a bit grubby, and the views of the kitchens, etc. are not what you want to see as your first impression. Bedroom decor was fine,... more

The staff at Cullen Bay are unbelievably friendly and helpful, although the hours they work are a bit frightening. The food's great and it's a lovely location. Our only problem was that the internet connection didn't work. We've not had problems anywhere else, so we assume the free-hotspot is not so hot. more

This is an excellent hotel with a fine view overlooking Cullen Bay. Although I only stayed one night it was plain to see that a lot of effort has been made to make this hotel a pleasure to stay in. The ensuite rooms provided for all needs including a filter coffee machine! The staff were very accomodating, even providing dinner... more

I have just returned from a one night stay at this Hotel, The owners and staff were excellent not had such great service in a Hotel for years, nothing was too much trouble. We had dinner in the Hotel at night and the food was very good. The only thing I would say that let the Hotel down was the... more

Our criteria were view of the sea, a small family hotel, good food and excellent value for money. It fulfilled all these. I cannot understand some of the critical reviews unless they expected a standard large five star chain hotel. The breakfasts were exciting and for 3 days we had very different and special breakfasts of smoked haddock, haggis, and... more

Great views of Cullen Bay from the rooms at the front. The rooms are decorated in fairly twee style but are clean and functional; bathroom was in need of sprucing as it was showing signs of water damage but it was still clean. What was most bizarre were the tissue box and toilet tissue covers (see photos) - haven't seen... more

Wow. This hotel is perched on top of a hill above the highway with an unobstructed view of the sea, and the stone-housed town of Cullen just to the east.. Closer, just across the highway is a starkly carved-out golf course which my husband found uniquely challenging because of the landscape, which is accommodated instead of challenged by the course.... more

The hotel has a commanding position and stunning views across the bay. The views from the rooms are lovely and the seascape vista from the restaurant is wonderful. However, we found our room, although spacious, to be very shabby and tired. The decoration was very "80s" and furniture mismatched. The bathroom was not really of an acceptable standard - dirty... more

Husband and I spent two nights at Cullen Bay Hotel early September - travelling with elderly lady - from moment we arrived we were met and greeted in a friendly & professional manner by the owner's son who greeted us by name. After a welcoming check in - we were shown to our rooms which were front facing with fantastic... more
