If i ever find myself returning to Tredegar, I'd rather sleep in the car than book this place again. Freezing cold room which made the bedding feel damp and 'claggy'. No hot water in the room and a nightclub at the rear meaning you'll struggle to get any sleep before 2 am.

THE RED LION, TREDEGAR, WALES Booked 2 nights here to attend the Abergavenny Wine and Food Festival as it was the only accommodation available at such short notice. This should have been a warning, and was but we had arranged to meet family here so we went with it. First impressions weren't good, and on entering the room itself the... More

Twin room booked for just 1 night (thank goodness). Bed and bedding clean but this hotel is well past its sell by date and the room was not particularly clean. £45 for a twin so not expensive but i did not enjoy the experience.

If you are the sort of person who doesn't mind where you are staying regardless of the condition of the place then this is for you! The Ritz it isn't,but there again you only get what you pay for, and with this place it's not a lot! The whole place could do with a total spring clean and a lick... More

I stay in Wales at least a few times a month, as I work across the whole of Wales. This is a no thrills hotel; don't expect 5 star quality for £30. The room was generally tidy, could use a lick of paint and spring clean, but it was dry, warm and comes with tea/coffee machine in corridor. Staff were... More

I am an easy going person and just wanted a cheap room to sleep in as we were going to a wedding night do in Crickhowell. The room was clean, tidy had a decent shower with hot water and the tv worked. Tredegar has absolutely nothing in the town and although late rooms said it was 6.8 miles from Crickhowell,... More

Well its above an 'old man' style pub as i call them, although at night i couldnt hear the bar once in my room and slept well every night. Other reviews say this is a rough area but i didnt think so, its a very small place which looks like it has been hit hard by the recession, however everyone... More

My wife and I stayed here on Saturday 30th June 2012.We arrived about 2.30pm booked in and dropped our lugage off.
