Stopped here with family en route from Skye ferry back to Glasgow. I had visited Morar a lot as a kid and wanted to stop here for lunch on our journey home after a holiday in Skye. Disappointed to be told that they couldn't do lunch for us because they were waiting on a coach trip. Shame we weren't made... More

Management don't take critisim well and would advise them to look at what thier fellow hoteliers in the same area offer as I have had no problems having stayed at 3 other similar hotels. Only stay here if you can't find anything else.

We were on the same holiday as Steve Porter and agree with all his comments. We were a bit reluctant to go when we saw some of the bad reviews, but it obviously has had new management and all the staff were lovely. We were late back after the ferry from Skye and the manage took it all in her... More

We stayed on a "Treyn" Rail Holiday with 41 other guests. We were warmly welcomed by Lola, the Spanish manager who is a very friendly and very sweet lady. Our cases were carried up to the room by a member of staff who did not wait around for a tip. Our room (25) had a wonderful sea view and was... More

Our stay here was part of a Treyn holiday. On arrival we were unable to get into the hotel until an off duty member of staff could be summoned. When we did get in no member of staff was able to allocate rooms, so we had to sit and wait with our luggage. Eventually the manager arrived and we all... More

Dear 396Scotty, Many thanks for taking the time to provide us with your review. Treyn Holidays notified us that you would be arriving on the train after 2pm, hence why no one was available to check your group in on arrival at 1.30pm, our check in is normally from 4pm so it is fortunate that we did have bedrooms serviced.... I stayed here a few years ago, accompanying a group, & have always intended to go back independently as a couple - not got around to it yet though! I really liked the hotel & its fantastic views, as well as the welcoming open fire as one entered the building on a wet windy day. No it is not the... More

Overall, I would advise against going to this hotel. There are some nice views, and it's close to activities to do on your holiday. The 'lounge' room is also rather nice, and... most of the staff are too. I'm afraid the list of good things ends there. The beds are uncomfortable, the window in the room I stayed in was... More

We were staying in Ardnamuchan and were sightseeing in the Morar area and wanted to pop into the hotel for a coffee and cake. According to the sign on the hotel it boasted "a very warm Scottish welcome with friendly service" The door was locked. Someone came to open it and when we stated we would like a coffee we... More

We had a one night stay in the Morar hotel prior to an early ferry to Skye with afternoon return by train to Glasgow ready for the sleeper to London. Super location, cross the road from the station and you're there. We stayed in Room 6 which had a superb view and the sunset that evening was brilliant. (We were... More

Having just returned from a Treyn holiday and stayed for 3 nights at the Morar Hotel, I thought I would write a review. It is an old hotel, but it was clean and the staff looked after us extremely well. We had already upgraded to a room with a Sea View which was spectacular. I cannot fault the accommodation. The...
