One minute from Morar station which is really great as Mallaig has little to recommend it. Hotel has great views, staff were efficient and friendly and kept popping up in different roles which was strange at first but you got used to it! Bedroom was clean, tidy and comfortable with lovely views of the islands. Hotel is somewhat little tired... More

Its been a lovely day and we thought it might be nice to pop into the hotel for a long cool pint of lager but there was a sign saying residents only. What's that all about? The hotel is in a prime location and we understand that it used to be a real focal point of village life in Morar,... More

Morar Hotel is a seasonal hotel and the operations have recently changed, as it is run by a small team it made sense to focus on the group business, allowing us to use our resources to ensure that our guests have a most enjoyable time staying with us, the feedback has been very positive. More

We stayed here overnight as part of a short trip to Mallaig and back. If you travel by train (the only civilised way to travel to Mallaig!) it is directly opposite Morar station. We were made very welcome, the room had a magnificent view over the Sound of Sleat out to Rum and Eigg including the beautiful white sands, and... More

We stayed three nights in May 2013. The location of the hotel is superb with fantastic views. The rooms however are a bit tired and the carpets very stained and shabby. The bed linen and towels were spotless, although the towels could have been a bit bigger. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The food - breakfast was very disappointing... More

We stayed at the Morar Hotel, an old station Hotel, with Treyn Holidays, rooms were warm and clean with Windows that open. Public rooms were a little cool in early May, but the Manager soon plugged in some heaters for us. The view from the decking and the Restaurant/Breakfast room is amazing overlooking the Sea and the Isles of Rum... More

Seriously understaffed with one poor guy booking in new arrivals and serving at the bar all at the same time. I was planning on staying the night but to be be honest I was glad I had a tent with me and ended up camping nearby. I booked in for dinner and was told I couldn't eat outside on the... More

Just back from a short weekend break with my partner, her mum and my dog. The hotel staff couldn't have been any more helpful, especially Alison who went well out of her way to make sure everything was perfect for us. The views from the hotel bedrooms were stunning, the rooms were of good quality (especially as we had the... More

We spent 3 nights at the Morar, our room was no.5, we were on an organised trip. Never in my 60 years have I stayed in such a dump. The bedroom was disgusting, curtains were torn & hanging down from the rail. Pillows were stained with dribble & more. The carpet was so dirty you had to keep your shoes... More

Stayed one night. Some mix up with my room, which can happen. Manager had to check that I hadn't made a mistake before confirming they had made an error. Dining was limited as there was a coach party arriving that night. The hotel is a bit tired and the room stock is poor. The staff lack direction rather than ability.... More
