It may not be 5 star but it is comfortable, friendly, has good food, and amazing views. You can watch the sun set on Rum from a lovely light and airy dining room, or sit in a comfy chair by a cosy fire nursing a drink from the bar. Across the water is one of the best beaches on the... More

So, the B&B I booked was on the Isle of Skye and it took WAY longer than expected to get there. Before I fell asleep at the wheel, I came upon the Morar Hotel. It was ~11pm and everything around seemed closed up as it was Winter. Thank God they were open and had a room. The people could not... More

My wife and I spent three nights here through a 'Groupon' voucher deal. It was tremendous value. This is certainly not a luxury hotel but its bedrooms are comfortable, albeit relatively small. Commendably, WiFi access is free and connection speeds good. But not sufficient for 'streaming'. You will have to turn the hot water tap on and let it run... More

Thank you for taking the time to write a comprehensive summary for future guests. Work is scheduled for many areas over the winter break as you would expect although hot water and the roof have been priorities for 2015 (completed). All your points have been logged already. I am glad you liked the food because people do travel from miles... More

Sea view room with stunning views over Silver Sands beaches. Clean and fresh if a bit dated. Breakfast was awesome, fresh and hearty. Wife even got fresh Porridge on request. Meals good standard and a few choices. Staff were excellent, friendly, efficient and helpful. Reception area was a bit dated and could be livened up a wee bit but again... More

Thank you for your thoughts. The Morar Hotel dates from 1905 and reception is "period" with antiques, persian rugs an open fire and oil paintings. As well as wifi and heat pumps quietly bringing it into the 21st century, we know guests appreciate the ambience and comfort, especially the fire! The bar has been recently opened after a 10-year closure... More

Stuart and his staff were lovely. You can see the refurbishment is well on it's way and we wish them every success. The hotel was warm and welcoming and clean, our only bug bear were the pillows cheap and uncomfortable, but that may just have been us. The food and service was excellent very friendly. Will definitely return.

Thank you for coming to stay recently. We note concerns about the pillows and we are having a complete pillow upgrade, now we have done the beds. Just back from the Morar after a family birthday meal. It was lovely! My husband went in to book a table earlier and mentioned it was my sons birthday and we'd forgotten his cake! They asked if we'd like them to organise something and brought us a plateful of desserts with candles, what a lovely gesture. The hotel has been... More

All Highland hotels will be on seasonal opening times at the moment but if staff are available however we provide afternoon refreshments. There is no hard and fast rule however and it is weather dependent as you will appreciate in this remote location. More

We encourage all guests to ask for reservations staff so misunderstandings do not occur. All promos relate to single rooms, twins or doubles and the webrate of £80 each, dinner bed and breakfast in October, still applies. A new category was specially created online to apply to the hotel's one triple room (at a discount) to £210 DBB. We apologise... More
