The Morar hotel is a very old hotel, so its certainly not modern, but trust me, you would not want it to be. This hotel has one of the most beautiful views I have seen. The owner is kind and always willing to answer questions. He even ran a trivia night in the pub. His staff are professional and very... More

We've been to this hotel on several occasions over the last years. It has new owner and staff this year. Improvements are good, even the bar has been re-opened. The location is magnificent and we were blessed with great weather. Did not take an evening meal, but breakfast buffet was a good selection. Some teething problems for new management and... More

The Morar Hotel is a short drive away from the ferry to the Isle of Skye. The hotel sits up on a hill with a beautiful view of the river and coast. The staff was very helpful in providing directions and suggestions. The lobby and dining area are nicely appointed. The rooms themselves are nice, but rather utilitarian in furnishings... More

This is a very good hotel set in one of the most fabulous scenic locations in our land. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the sea view from the room was impressive (even though the weather was a bit misty), the staff were friendly and helpful, the food was very good. Stuart (the owner) was very welcoming, friendly and always... More

Thank you so much for your feedback on which I completely agree. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay. The aim is to have many more artefacts and Morar-related things in due course. We love the area and it is heartening to see so many people agreeing it is a world-class location. More

Well when you book a hotel way up in The Highlands you really would expect Scottish staff? Young Eastern Europeans working here, friendly and polite, but didn't give the hotel any atmosphere. Hotel is nice, situated in stunning scenery, room very comfy, clean and spacious, however view of a brickwall sadly let it down (room 10). We had breakfast and... More

Thanks for the feedback. I agree the room should have been ready and we have recently managed to double our housekeeping, mainly with local ladies so this would not occur again. The lack of Scottish in the hospitality workforce you will find throughout Scotland; it is not unique to Morar. In March we placed a large recruitment ad in the... More

Thank you for your feedback. Check in used to be 4pm and it is now 2pm under the new ownership and we invited you to take lunch despite a large lunch booking for 50 people in the restaurant, so thank you for your patience. Please advise if you would like to request an earlier check-in. All views are different, the... More

A beautifully positioned hotel, Morar scenery is spectacular. Do ask for heater to be put on in room as refurbishment still in progress to upgrade everywhere and corridors have no heating. Staff are very accommodating, friendly and kind. Food is good, but British expectations still being learned, e.g vinegar, tartare sauce with fish and chips, gravy with steak pie! A... More

Thank you for your lovely review. Morar is indeed a priceless gem in Scotland and affords guests the opportunity to switch off completely and to be pampered with our bespoke winelist and tasty food and lovely views. Lunch is available to all guests and we do packed lunches for walkers also. Corridor heating is now on! More

I stayed at the Morar as part of a party on the way to the Hebrides. It was obvious upon arrival that something wasn't quite right. We arrived by train and check in was fine. It was when we used the restaurant that things went a little astray. The staff made many errors with the service and there seemed to... More

Thank you for taking the time to rate us as adequate 3 months after taking over and only a few days after opening and on the first large group tour of the season. Check-in was indeed easy and efficient as your guide pointed out and where we cannot fill roles locally we get help from hospitality students who are pleased... More
