Hi All. I took a trip up for a long weekend to Edinburgh, Fort William and through Glencoe onto Loch Lomond, got as far as Dalwhinnie as the snow came down with a vengeance, we past the Inn at Dallwhinnie for about 2 miles and could no longer continue, so we turned around and stayed at the Inn, i don't... we went to this hotel for food with all the family. We spent in excess of £60 and was served with very poor food. The atmosphere was lacking and we would have been better of in a mcdonald,s.I can only suggest driving another 10 miles and going to Newtonmore. This is a place to miss.Such a missed oppurtunity

It might be unfair to complain here as I was served quickly and efficiently by the barman (who was really good) but the owner seemed to be a complete bully to staff and customers alike. While I was eating a couple with a dog came in and were roundly yelled at by the owner and told to get 'that [--]... More

We arrived at Dalwhinnie after a long and arduous journey, and checked into our room with no trouble. The room was very cosy, and although the decor is a bit granny chic, it was warm and inviting and the shower was great. We had a view looking out over the stream and it was lovely and peaceful. Once checked in... More

Arrived after dark with 2 clients who were booked into the Inn at Dalwhinnie, after 10 hours walking on the hills. Told dogs not allowed in restaurant but ok in hotel rooms (fair enough!) Grudgingly admitted into an empty room next to the restaurant. Took off our wet things & went to the bar for a drink. No alcohol that... More

This is the first time I have written a review on an establishment but the meal was so bad I felt I had to do something. My partner ordered a baked potato with cheese. It arrived in a pool of water and was uncooked in the centre. I ordered a beef casserole. The meat was disgusting!. It hadn' even been... More

I am aware of these party's complaint, but only after leaving a post-it note in the middle of the plate with the word YUK on it. The casserole (of which most was eaten and there was no fatty gristle on the plate when we examined it) happens to be one of, if not THE most popular dish that we serve.... More

It wasn't exactly what we had in mind (and I hadn't read these reviews) when we stumbled upon this place on a Sunday afternoon. Everywhere else in traditional old Kingussie was closed and it didn't look too bad. And we were hungry. There were few other customers and several disinterested staff but no matter. I ordered a beer at the... More

Not really as seen on their website, a pretty deceptive exterior let down by poor interiors. Food was cold, excessive waiting times, and then you had to remind the otherwise polite staff that cutlery was an option, though despite this, was actually ok food quality, but not worth the prices charged. Returned to our room next day to find bin... More

Reception was cold and a torrent of excuses were supplied to avoid supplying a early breakfast. I eventually secured a sandwich and some fruit but was warned that they could not be responsible for any ill effects suffered due to lack of refrigeration in room. They need not have worried as I opened the bathroom window and was unable to... More

The Inn Dalwhinnie is something of a Swiss-army knife of a hotel. Catering as it does for locals and tourists and the hill walking/mountain biking community. It is therefore a bar, cafe, restaurant, recreation facility as well as a hotel. Like a Swiss-army knife any one of these roles might be better achieved by purpose-built implement but I am aware...
