At the end of a long day walking the hotel was a very welcome sight. The situation is lovely and it is a very nice old house. Whilst some aspects are clearly a "work in progress" as the hotel is gradually upgraded, the food was excellent and the staff were friendly and hospitable. Some of the 'small things' still let... The Strathblane Country House Hotel is in the north end of Glasgow just beyond the Milngavie train station. In three short miles you are in the most beautiful country all the while having access to several small villages nearby and not far from Loch Lomond and Stirling. The hotel itself is run by very delightful people who assure you that... More

My husband and myself booked to take my mother here for a special afternoon tea to celebrate her 81st birthday. We were promptly attended to and shown our table and our afternoon tea brought. For 15.95 /head I do not expect to be brought a small selection of white bread sandwiches and half of the cakes to be supermarket bought ,especially... Starting to see the impact of new management in a number of areas. Food taking innovative twists, facilities being steadily overhauled and things sharpening up. It's the little things that you don't always notice that seem to be the focus instead of going for a hugely expensive makeover. Seems a sensible approach and, if the friendliness of the staff is... New owners are in place and what a difference this has made and will no doubt make in the future. I am told that they intend to surprise their guests in more ways than one, so I will wait to see what happens when I next visit. The superior room was very spacious and the views are lovely. Sadly at... More

Sadly! told could not access our room until 2pm as they needed time to clean, how long does it take to clean a room! presume guests leave at 11am that's 3 hours! could not change there prior to attending a wedding, poor show who would not like time to relax and refresh! maybe more cleaning staff should be employed to... Husband and I had high hopes for this boutique style hotel. I loved the grounds and the location of the hotel. It was lush and green and also the property has a lovely cat who patrols inside and outside. The interior of our room (which we presume is used as a bridal suite) looked like it was recently updated. Our... More

As the name suggests, a country house in Strathblane - in need of a bit of TLC and a gardener, but the place was clean and the staff were friendly and breakfast was good. The bedroom was large and the bed was a big comfortable, oak sleigh bed. Bathroom could have used a coat of paint. A big old country... More

We attended a wedding reception and evening entertainment and can recommend this venue . The staff were very efficient and helpful. One small downside is the poor wheelchair access and if this was improved then it would be excellent. Our experience at the hotel was overall very good. The food was excellent and bar areas very comfortable.
