On the plus side, the food at this hotel is some of the best Ive had anywhere, including top city restaurants, although it was disappointing on our second evening that two of the three fish dishes were unavailable. The staff without exception are fantastic, hard working, extremely cheerful, and willing to help. Its a shame that all their efforts are... More

The Hotel is a bit of a mixed pot. The lower levels are fairly modern and nicely decorated. As you enter upstairs it gets a bit tatty looking- maybe this is intentional to add rustic appeal to the place- the room was large , comfortable, but dated. Food wise again, it was ok, with breakfast being the best of the... More

Stayed here one night in April. The room was small but very clean and comfortable. There was a problem with the kitchen the night we stayed but staff had called me the night before my stay to advise of this which I thought was incredibly thoughtful. Had several drinks in the bar, prices reasonable. Breakfast was lovely too. The highlight... More

When in Scotland you want to experience true Scotland right? Wanted to try Hendricks (famously Scottish gin traditionally served with cucumber rather than lemon or lime). No cucumber and apparently none in the whole hotel. No prosseco by the glass and staff looking at me like I have the nerve to even ask such an absurd question. Not a very... More

We enjoyed a very relaxing and pleasant two-night mid-week break in mid-March. In spite of some very wet weather on the day of arrival and the day we left, the break was very memorable for its relaxing ambience and excellent evening meals and breakfasts. Both the fish and the venison were succulent and delicious and the friendly service excellent. The... More

I bough my Mum & Dad a two nyt stay with coffee & scones on arrival. They were greeted with a drink only and no apologies for missing cake. They where told that the power had failed in the kitchen which meant they had to drive out for there evening meal which after reading previous reviews now seems like a... More

The hotel was beautiful and the surrounding town was also lovely. Nice and peaceful. The reception was welcoming.the staff could not do enough for you, especially Stacey. God bless her for putting up with us. The room was a little small but tidy and comfy. The food was excellent and the breakfast service good. We would certainly visit this establishment... More

We had a two night deal for here and chose a Sunday and Monday. Cosy good size room but maybe a a coat of paint as a little tired. Had dinner in restaurant on first night and we were really looking foward to a 'gourmet burger' but weekend had been busy so sold out but we had a glass of... More

Just had a lovely weekend away here. Would recommend it for a value for money trip away, the staff were lovely and very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. Food was great, if a little expensive, but freshly made and very generous portion sizes.

Had a lovely Sunday lunch here today very friendly and polite staff, will definitely pop in again when around this area, and only 40 mins from my home, a lovely place just off the beaten track, now got it in my sat-nav lol
