What a lovely experience! We were greeted warmly and shown to our room, which was clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated. After a trip to nearby Glengoyne Distillery (highly recommended) we chilled out in the Bistro bar , which has a great wee atmosphere. Dinner was delicious, as was breakfast. Nothing is too much trouble for Ryan, the chef, who is... More

My husband and I stayed here for a weekend break away. We arrived about 1pm. Yvonne was manning the reception and she took our luggage and showed us round the public areas. We decided to have a spot of lunch in the dining room. Both of us opted for the Cullen Skink and it was beautiful. The sun came out... More

Just back from a relaxing 2 day trip on Glasgow's doorstep but with a real out in the country break. Left feeling totally relaxed by the Killearn Hotel by their comfortable rooms, excellent food and superb staff. On leaving the manager chatted about how they have just taken over and based on our experience I expect them to have a... More

We have just returned from 3 nights at The Killearn. Let me just say the rating is 4 stars for a reason so please read the full review. On arrival the hotel appears worn, tired and in need of work on the exterior. On Entry the interior is very clean but very old and in need of a refurb. Carpets... More

Can't fault this hotel. The standard of service was generally excellent and the food was delicious. We stayed on a Travelzoo offer and the value was outstanding. Although staff training was ongoing, there was a friendly air about the place and nothing was too much trouble.

Very friendly and helpful staff make this hotel worth staying in. The public rooms are very nice and there is a lovely garden to eat in or have a drink in. Our room was comfortable enough but needed refurbished to bring it up to acceptable standard. There is the Glengoyne distillery nearby which is worth a visit and Glasgow is... More

We didn't stay over so cannot comment on the rooms. The location is first class - very pretty village and in the blazing heat of July, it was perfect. The restaurant is in a tired conservatory out back, with grubby fittings and grubby toilets. The staff were pleasant but service was slow. The food was average - overdone chips, very... More

We ate here three times and were impressed each time with the service and the standard of the food. My daughter is a vegetarian and the selection of dishes was fantastic. The standard of food for the non-vegetarian dishes was also excellent. The atmosphere was really good - relaxing, plenty of space. The staff seemed to enjoy their work.

When we first arrived at this hotel and parked the motorcycles in the rear car park, we were a bit put off by the lack of care to the outside of the building, but once inside it immediately became obvious that the owner is making improvements starting with the inside, the bar area was comfortable and quite modern, with a... Went on a voucher deal for dinner bed an breakfast. A bit worried on arrival as the outside was a bit rundown. Window frames badly need painting. However we were greater very warmly by a young lady and a gentleman who was the manager possibly owner. The room was small and could do with an update. The evening meal was... More
