Booked whiskey tasting at the local Glengoyne Distillery. Got a cheap deal at the killearn 2 nights B&B for £99 for two of us. Staff are lovely and very accommodating. Mike the new owner has taken over a run down hotel and I believe he will get there in the end. Rooms are a good size and with a bit... More

Just back from a lovely weekend at The Killearn hotel and the staff are just fab. Mike (the owner) has done a fab job of recruiting wee gems. Stacey looked after us and Jenny who was our waitress on breakfast was the nicest person I've ever had the pleasure to meet. The hotel itself is a little dated and could... More

We had a lovely weekend here a week ago. It was snowing and the place was cosy, warm and welcoming. The residents lounge had a lovely log fire roaring every night which was lovely to sit by, sip wine and relax. The staff were very friendly. The food is very overpriced for what it is and could do with more... More

We popped in for a Saturday lunch. We were the only people there apart from a lone man at the bar. 1 waitress who seemed bored. Despite the lack of custom service was slow. Place looks drab. Needs a makeover. Not cosy not trendy and an odd mix of old and new. Food was ok but really expensive for what... More

Four of us stayed here for a quiet weekend on an Amazon local deal. £69 per couple for two nights B & B with a cream tea included. It's an old hotel and very comfortable, warm and clean but crying out for a thorough and comprehensive makeover, especially upstairs. Our room was not large but big enough for a couple... More

Rooms are basic, however could be better, buts it makes it up with lovely very helpful staff, lovely food and even the chef would explain and lovely surroundings great walks although weather was bad, dog friendly and a roasti toasti coal fire which made it for us. No entertairrnt but we had a lovely weekend I would recommend if you... More

Took our very gracious Granddaughter out for a meal. Despite having pre booked the table wasn't set - just one other table occupied that night - and an empty water jug on the windowsill beside our table obviously where previous diners had left it. Took 15 minutes for drinks - 2 soft and one half Guinness - to arrive. Chosen... More

The hotel is an old building, but it is comfortable and homely with a real fire in the lounge. The bedroom was large enough for us, the bed was comfortable and the pillows firm, the way we like them. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. The staff were very young but knew what they were doing, and they were all lovely,... More

The hotel is fine, clean and has good service. The hallway to the rooms has an awful design, but the rooms are cosy and you can tell they've been refubrished so I hope they do the same with the hallway. The shower door did not work properly and it was a nuisance, but not so much as we only stayed... More

We bought this as a package from Amazon Local because it looked like a bargain. Two nights bed and breakfast with afternoon tea on arrival. I looked at the hotel using Google street view and was a little apprehensive because it appeared to be a little rundown. However we went ahead, and we were very pleased we did. The hotel... More
