We also stayed recently for a wedding & were given a room in the annex. Our greeting at reception was ok, but we were told that our room was in the annex and were given no information where our room was located, so wandered around trying to find it, we had to phone reception at the main house twice find... Stayed here for two nights recently whilst attending a friends wedding (held in the hotel). The approach and grounds are very impressive but the 'two tier accommodation' lets it down badly. We lugged our cases to reception, only to be told we were staying in the Grange-the annexe. We reached our room No 72 on the ground floor. This has... More

I have been to this hotel on a number of occasions. The hotel is set in the middle of some lovely countryside; it has a nice countryside feeling. The hotel is set on two sides, the old country manor house and the new conference centre with modern facilities. In the old part the rooms are a bit of a mixed... More

Almost cancelled this hotel after reading some reviews, so glad we didn't. Had a lovely overnight stay. We were in the Grange which is only a few minutes walk (honest) and the room was comfortable and clean - the bed was a bit short for a tall guy like me but I still slept well. We had a 3 course... The hotel from the outside looks very nice and when we arrived we parked in the main car park located close to the main entrance. Upon entering the receptionist seemed either annoyed or miserable and there was no smile to be seen. We were then informed we were not sleeping in the main house but actually in a smaller section... On arriving at the hotel, the grounds are beautiful and vast. The outside of the hotel is very impressive. The reception staff were friendly. We stayed in a junior suite at The Grange, an annex off the main hotel. The hotel room had no opening windows or air conditioning. The carpets were filthy and the 'suite' smelled of urine. The... Hotel room in the grange is very nice, until you try and open a window! Mould all around the curtains, french door handle broken, poor ventilation and yet they still tried to charge us 119 pounds for staying 1 night! I had to check out after that as i could hardly breathe in the room because of the mould! Disgusting... More

On pulling into the lovely drive towards this stunning looking hotel I thought WOW. It's a beautiful looking place with stunning surroundings. The receptionist was polite and excellent however as soon as you go into your room the mood drops . The top corridor was boiling hot and the same in the room and the towel rail was on to... More

We have stayed at a couple of De Vere venues before and been very impressed - so much so we had our wedding at one (Milton Hill), which was great. However, this hotel was far worse than the others. Positives - Nice large grounds, attractive building, stylish bar, good shower and free wi-fi Negatives - No leisure facilities at all;... More

Nice location and good grounds. Bar was disappointing with 4 out of. 6 draught beers not working. Food was generally good but breakfast could be fresher and late supplier deliveries don't help. All that said the local area has a couple of good pubs for a change if scene and the staff are great. I had a room in the... More
