We stopped here for a pint of ale. Lovely sunshine in the garden in the afternoon. Good atmosphere, staff were friendly and reasonable bar prices - recommended. It's easily found in the town. The bar had a selection of 2 real ales and two ciders on draught. We'd happily have drinks here again.

We dropped in on the off chance of a room for the evening - what a delightful place, which was friendly and accomodating. Excellent room, with good shower, and all spotlessly clean. Breakfast was a feast, served promptly on arrival in the dining room, but not hurried. I would reccomend this as a place to stay, as the service was... More

Over the past 2 months 19 of us have had two brilliant evenings at The Red Lion celebrating our birthdays. What a smashing couple now run it. They are very welcoming, friendly and obliging, nothing is too much trouble for them. Good food, drinks & clean premises. If they had had enough B&B rooms, I am sure we we would... More

Went to The Red Lion to celebrate 2 birthdays this week. Welcomed by the lovely log fire and the Grieves family. Our dog was very happy being fed numerous 'figgy rolls' from the dog treat jar located on the bar. Had fish and chips, delicious and good sized portion served on piping hot plate. A friend had steak which he... More

We are always made very welcome, and the food and service is excellent, nothing is too much trouble. We will make it... More

We have stayed at the Red Lion on numerous occasions and have always found Stuart & Jane very welcoming, friendly & courteous. Nothing is too much trouble - every request made by us was met with an immediate response of 'yes of course no problem!' We even took our small dog on a couple of visits and this too was... More

I too was one of the ‘unfortunate customers’ on that Saturday night…. The band was great and the atmosphere also great until we made the mistake of not necking our drinks immediately when asked to drink up. I have to say I was absolutely shocked by the hostile and unfriendly treatment received that night. We were not asked if we... More
