This hotel is in an exceedingly beautiful location. We attended for morning coffee with friends and were expecting good things and were initially won over by the peace and tranquillity of the location. We encountered some problems once seated. Our sever a well presented young woman was very clipped and almost disdainful of our presence at the hotel, she was... More

We had afternoon tea at Tylney Hall Hotel. It was sublime, we were extremely well looked after by Neil and his team without the attention being excessive. A thoroughly enjoyable afternoon tea. Highly recommend this Hotel. We will be back for more luxurious times.

We held a 2.5 day business workshop here, and wow - what a setting. The view out the front of the hotel and the gardens are simply immaculate. The age and history and setting are hard to beat. The rooms are clean and all you need. A great English breakfast, and a great dinner was laid on the one night.... More

Have enjoyed a fabulous Sunday lunch with friends in a private dining room at Tyllney Hall. Fabulous food, particularly lamb main course and selection of desserts. A walk in the superb grounds before coffee, completed a lovely afternoon

My husband and I treated ourselves to a night at this hotel, and it was absolutely wonderful: - stunning historic building - huge, beautiful grounds - swimming pool, sauna, snooker room - delicious dinner and drinks - professional, friendly staff Little touches like being upgraded on arrival to a suite, just because it was available. And being invited to call... More

The building and grounds are truly beautiful, with afternoon tea on the terrace a particular treat. Everything is tranquil and serene, and with a long pretty view framed by redwoods. The room was decent, but not special in any way. This might be better in the main building. Carpets etc a bit worn around the house. This was slightly disappointing.... More

Your comments are appreciated and I am glad that overall you have described us as a "Chaming Hotel in a beautiful setting". There is a selective refurbishment programme for some of the bedrooms and public areas over the next 6 months and I do understand your sentiments on this point. Thank you for taking time to feed back constructively and... More

I've given this review the "Halfway House" title because we wanted somewhere to meet visiting chums from Australia, for coffee, ... a spot which was pretty much half way between our place and where they were staying. This worked admirably for that purpose although, as things worked out, they got the better end of the deal in the 'equi-distant' stakes.... More

Thank you for your positive review and I am very pleased to learn that your visit to our outside Terrace and Lounge for coffee and then light meals were so much enjoyed. Good to also know that the "flat whites" were up to standard for your Australian visitors. Thank you for taking time to feed back and glad that we... More

My husband booked 2 nights here for a surprise wedding anniversary trip. We have stayed at Ashdown Park (sister hotel) so knew roughly what to expect. Let's start with positives: Beautiful grounds & main hotel "common" rooms Extremely attentive staff Good (but not spectacular) food Very pretty location of suite overlooking garden orchard Bad: Standard of rooms.... My husband had... More

My friend and I went to this hotel for 'afternoon tea' two weeks ago. The food, service and general ambiance were really good. Having experienced this 'treat' in two other hotels in London, Tylney Hall was far better. The friendly. welcoming staff were of particular note. We explored some of the beautiful grounds and left resolved to return. I accidentally... More
