I stayed with Hawthorn for 5 nights while visiting friends in Radcliffe, extremely friendly owner, very clean rooms with all you need for your stay which are cleaned daily and the cooked breakfast with cerial is a fantastic start to any day.

The staff and the management wish to thank the client profusely for his kind and pleasant remarks. Having had a pleasant chat with him I realized that he had worked in the catering trade previously and is aware of the ins and outs of the business. He did appreciate our facilities and we were happy to be of service to... More

On arrival at Hawthorn Hotel we were greeted by a young gentleman and taken to the bar area. This was very dark and dingy and in need of a bit of decorating and re-furb. We were asked if we wanted breakfast at an extra cost to which we said we would have it and then we were shocked to be... More

Arrived at the hotel at 23:00 for a two night stay. I was taken to my room and when I entered my room it smelled mouldy and was very dated. As it was late I decided to stay the night. To be fair the bedding was clean but that was about it. The mattress was past its best to say... More

In reply to this review I wish to clarify that the client checked in approximately 11.30pm, he was welcomed courteously by our night supervisor and requested to see the room before check in. The following morning as I was getting the breakfast service ready for the hotel residents I saw the client in the lobby he seemed very angry and... More

In reply to the review, I wish to advise that the booking was for a double room for 1 night on 30th August. On arrival our new staff member welcomed the clients and asked them to take a seat for a few minutes. It was almost 3 minutes later when I arrived and welcomed them courteously and asked him to... How appropriate that on the third year (almost to the day!) since I first stayed at The Hawthorn Hotel, I was placed in the very same room as on my first visit. As usual I was made to feel very welcome on arrival, even though I was later than expected, and the owner greeted me with a conversation that was... More

Stayed at this hotel on a Saturday night after visiting some friends who live locally. The hotel was the cheapest in the area (a bit less than a premier inn). The hotel is fairly basic but was clean and the room we stayed in had recently been redecorated though the furniture was again very basic. The breakfast is not included... More

I have stayed at the Hawthorn numerous times over the past 3 years for business purposes, and it now seems like my home away from home. I always receive a friendly welcome, the breakfasts are delicious, the beds comfortable and the rooms clean. I am almost always given the same room (room 16) and I much prefer to stay here... More

Working away from home, so slowly trying every hotel around Bolton. Arrived, place was all locked up & no one seemed about. Eventually the door was opened & I found a helpful employee, friendly owner & a cheap, basic hotel that provided what you would expect for the price (you can negotiate). He is redecorating the place, so beware of... More

I spent a night here (1/12/14) and couldn't fault it. It is a budget hotel so please keep that in mind BUT they are currently decorating the property which was nice to see. In my opinion it is a tradition B&B, and personally I love that. My room was perfectly suitable for my needs and very welcoming with nice clean... More

My partner and i stayed here for 5 days whilst working in Oldham. On arrival the owner was very abrupt and not very welcoming. He showed us to our room, which looked clean and smelt clean. It had a small wardrobe and chest of drawers, bedside cabinets and a tv. There was the smallest kettle we have ever seen and... More
