I stayed here on business about a month ago. It really is a great pub. In the evening I sat at the bar and made friends with the locals. The bar staff were very friendly and helpful. The steak was delicious and the chips were to die for. The room I had was for single occupancy however I had a... More

We stayed here for one night with family as we were going to a party in Heswall. The rooms were nice and comfortable with great views. There was plenty of choice at breakfast and the food was lovely. I would definitely stay again. We sat having a drink by the fire and looked at the Ala carte menu which had... More

We stayed at the Jug and Bottle for 3 days, the staff were very pleasant and helpful, room very clean and comfortable with tea making facilities. Breakfast freshly cooked to order and plenty of it. It was great to see that dogs were welcomed in the bar, a good choice of beer and wine.

We have never eaten here before but visited on a very cold Sunday. The staff were really friendly and there was a lovely welcoming fire burning. The food was excellent and the puddings were given a bit more imagination than the usual sweets you often find on menus. We ate in the bar as we had our dog with us... More

As group of eight friends we visited the jug last Saturday night for a meal. I found menu was very exciting and was torn trying to choose a starter and a main. I went for chorizo to start and the duck for my main - both were mouth-wateringly good! The best starter from the group was the sausage roll -... More

Visited 8.30 Saturday evening. The pub is a nice place and on Saturday was a real hive of activity. Whilst you can eat from the same menu in the pub, the restaurant is in another area so you leave behind the hustle and eat in a nice dining room with the pass from the kitchen visible. Ordered a baked Camembert... More

Went earlier this month. Achange of chef. Food still good but did not feel the menu was as imaginative as previously. Ambience still excellent retaining a nice pub feel.Would be good to hear from other regulars.

Stayed here 5/1 - 9/1 and despite a few minor issues, had a great stay. Staff all very helpful and the breakfast inclusive rate was extremely good value. Location at only a few minutes walk away from Heswall centre, means nearly all other restaurants and the Tesco are only a few minutes walk away.

We have eaten here before on a couple of occasions and never been disappointed and we were more than happy to celebrate our daughters 30th here. There was 8 of us and we were all very impressed and happy with our choices off the menu, the Scotch Egg starter was a hit as were the Ribs and gin infused Salmon,... More
