Chose this venue for a family gathering to celebrate my Mother-in-law's birthday and couldn't have been more pleased. Lovely atmosphere, attentive and helpful staff, fantastic food, family friendly, great décor, really impressive menu choice, the list goes on! The pub also welcomes dogs which is fantastic as there are not enough pubs on the Wirral that admit our four legged... More

We went to the Jug and Bottle to celebrate my wife's birthday. Both the service and food were excellent. The staff couldn't be more helpful and made us all feel very welcome I would definetly recommend this lovely pub.

We were served by heather who was extremely helpful and attentive. Our food was beautifully served and of excellent quality. Our waitress anticipated our every need and was always one step ahead of us meaning that we never wanted for anything. Thank you

Lovely pub with open fire. Traditional menu with lots of choice. Would very much recommend the sausage rolls and fish and chips. Lovely atmosphere and very cosy. A good idea for lunch or evening meal as a lovely restaurant area too. Service excellent would not go anywhere else!

After a hectic Christmas shopping afternoon in Heswall, my husband and I popped in just for a drink, but after seeing some of the food being served on the next table, couldn't resist sampling the menu. I chose the lambs liver which was cooked to perfection, and my husband had the rack of ribs, which could have easily fed two... More

I was unexpectedly staying in the area for a few days in November. It is good value for money. There are only 6 rooms so there is almost a family feel to the place. Room was very comfortable but in need of modernisation - large windows rattled in the wind and let in a notable draught. Manager and staff were... More

I'm an Heswall-born boy but left over 40 years ago to live in London. I needed to stay over briefly and accommodation in or around Heswall is pretty thin on the ground. Given that I remembered and had a connection to this building from my youth when it was the local council offices it seemed entirely appropriate that I should... More

Stayed here along with a work colleague. We met our customers for pre-meal drinks in the bar area. The staff were really great and polite and they have a huge range of guest ales for those who're into that sort of thing. We we ate a local Italian that we'd already booked but the food looked awesome that we saw... More

friendly. The selection of beers and wines is also very good. The rooms are warm and clean ...good facilities ..shower ...tea coffee etc. The only "fault" I could see in this joint is very trivial..ie the bedroom windows require modernised.

Staff upon arrival were efficient and friendly. Room was excellent with loads of Windows, and everything you could want. Unfortunately didn't have time for breakfast as we needed to leave before 9am but have no doubt it would have been nice. We will be back at some point.
