I will start by saying if you haven't stopped in other hotels for last than £50 a night for two people with 30 minutes of Central London, then brace yourself. It smells of stale ashtray and is I need of some investment, but we paid £130 for 3 nights so I was personally expecting worse. So the pros... the beds... More

Let me first say that this hotel wasn't booked by ourself but through a travel agency, If I had read the reviews before I would never had made a reservation in this hotel. The corridors smell like old wet socks, our bed looked like someone had been sleeping in it and the sheets were just straightened a bit. The bathroom... More

We needed a place to lay our heads for a few hours, having settled 93 year old mother in law into her home after a long stay in hospital. I had found the nearest hotel to her home on Laterooms and thought we were getting a real bargain at £40! I phoned to say we would not get there till... More

We were originally booked into Ivy House at Chalfont St Giles for the weekend, but they double-booked and did not inform me. Having said that, the Long Island at Rickmansworth more than made up for the poor showing by the Ivy. For less than half the price for a night (Ivy - £85, LI - £40) it was truly worth... More

Myself & my other half stayed here July 22nd as we were visiting the Harry Potter studios in Watford the following day. The hotel was well priced (for London) and only a 15 min drive to the studios, so it was perfect for us. It's also close to Rickmansworth town centre so we only had a 5 min drive to... More

Please do not expect the ritz as you will be most certainly disappointed! Ok so this was our 2nd stay at this place, first time was acceptable, bit grubby but nothing too dramatic, this time however we took our son so stayed in a family room, nice size, mostly clean, apart from the bathroom which was awful, grime and hair... Well this is conveniently placed hotel near Watford, M25, m40 & M1but is a tired hotel and needs an update which is a shame The staff are welcoming, FREE Wifi in the rooms The rooms are basic and sad. I would have thought Old English Inns would have updated this hotel. It is busy so no lack of customers. The... More

This was our fourth visit to this hotel over the past few years and boy has this place gone down hill. Firstly lets get the good bits out of the way... Good price for two nights that included breakfast. Excellent breakfast, good service, quality food. Rickmansworth Station just across the road and fast Chiltern railways train gets you to Marylebone... More

How any genuine traveller can say they enjoyed staying at this grubby, shabby, smelly and dirty accommodation is beyond me. the poor staff are trying their best but it is literally shocking in every way. Broken celing tiles, stench of damp and uncleanliness, heavily stained carpets. We arrived, checked in, went out, came back and whilst getting changed to go... More
