We booked last minute via lastminute.com. Initially a bit disappointed as the room we had booked (a deluxe or superior double? anyway an upgrade from a normal double room) had no sea views....however, the room itself was delightful with a huge bed and pleasantly decorated. The bathroom was big and tastefully kitted out. Nice, but slightly unnecessary? automatic turn down... More

This was our first trip to Cornwall in winter and we thoroughly enjoyed our time in Portloe. The Lugger is located next to the slip way and the views of the harbour are peaceful. Some lovely walks close by make this a great base for nature-lovers. The rooms are well appointed and cosy - the hotwater bottles at night are... More

Great Hotel. Friendly and helpful staff absolutely mind blowing food. Room was kept nice and tidy, wonderful "goodnight touch" very unique and personal. It was great to get away from real world and kick my feet up and relax at the Lugger. Would highly recommend this to all my friends and family as it is a beautiful experience LOTS OF... More

This boutique hotel is in a fantastic location with great views. We were given a good welcome with someone helping with our bags. Our room (in the annexe) was well appointed and comfortable. Our stay was for 3 nights. Breakfast is very good with plenty of choice, although service was a touch slow. We had dinner once which again was... More

We would turn back anytime. This is a place to relax and enjoy: the kitchen was offering local dishes in a wonderful quality, the personell was friendly and helpful. The rooms are comfy and cosy, might be a bit bigger. Bathrooms as well, on the small side. Ours could do with some refurbishing, but this is just to find a... More

This was a small bespoke hotel. The room we were allocated seemed small, but the wardrobe was in a lower area with dressing table, so not too bad, bathroom small tho, but good shower over bath. Lovely toiletries and fruit, water and sweets in room. Could see the sea (just) from our side window. Room kept clean. Breakfast was good... More

Quite a happy place to see after a very long trek from Portscatho! Our snug room was beautiful with 2 windows to catch the breezes. Since we were all on a walking trip, we'd probably prefer one less piece of furniture in the so we could spread out suitcases and backpacks, but some people wouldn't care. Again, not terribly small,... More

I booked this hotel for a two night break as it was our 20th anniversary. The hotel is situated on a slipway which has a few fishing boats on it and leads down to a little beach in a cove. The reception staff were very friendly and took us to our room which was in a separate building but just... More

Very disappointing stay at this hotel. This was booked as a surprise two day break for my husband. Paid top price for a De Luxe room with sea view. The first room we were offered required you to lean out over a balcony to see the sea. They showed us a second room (103) which had a great view of the... More

We stayed in Middle Cottage at the Lugger Hotel in June 2015. The cottage is small but perfect for accommodating two people, it has a cosy bright lounge and double bedroom both with great views. There is also a good sized bathroom with shower and separate bath. As you enter there is a small kitchen area with fridge, microwave and... More
