I travel all over the Uk and Europe and have to say that the Travel Plaza makes a welcome change, yes it used to be a travellodge but this hotel is really clean, ample parking, free wifi that works but the highlight has to be the Indian restaurant next door , outstanding food and highly recommended if you like a... I recently stayed in a family room in this hotel with my two children, who were competing in a windsurfing event nearby. I was a bit nervous due to negative feedback, but was pleasantly surprised. The hotel was very good value and perfectly adequate, with decent size and clean rooms. I was particularly thankful that the television was in good... More

Don't waste your money. Cold damp room of a low standard. Made to feel uncomfortable by staff, (also hard to understand at times). Their 'continental breakfast' consisted of a box of cerial, toast, a stale croissant and processed cheese slices that'd started the curl around the edges! Deffinatally NOT a pleasant stay.

Firstly I would like to point out that I have travelled the world over and slept in all sorts of conditions, from south American jungles, huts in India to 5 diamond resorts. Ashamed as I am to admit it, I never take the time to write reviews especially when good. It’s true what they say though - bad news travels... More

We stayed here for one night and found the hotel to be very clean and tidy, with very friendly and helpful staff. Like a Travelodge (which it once was) but much better and nicer. The restaurant could be improved - the food in the evening was excellent but the service was a bit slow and the very nice waiter's limited... More

This is a shed of a hotel that stinks of damp and it generally grotty. Even if every other hotel in the area burns to the ground, do not be tempted to stay here. We arrived to find a garden centre type shed, and walked into what we thought was the hotel reception (which looked like a garden centre canteen).... More

Dear Sir/Madam, We do not normally reply to reviews good or bad as we believe most people will check several reviews and then make a decision. In this case however the review is so totally out of character to reviews we have had before, we feel we must make an exception and respond. The hotel was fully booked that particular... More

I am farly local to this restaurant, so can't comment about the hotel. However, visited restaurant with friends having never had nepalese food. Considering previous review I was a bit tense HOWEVER...Really good food, excellent service, good price. Paul the Australian Manager was very friendly. Did we go to the same place as London gurkha??

We were a party of four staying over a Bank Holiday weekend. We had booked this hotel as it was convenient for a local event. One of the attractions was that it had a Nepalese restaurant, The Gurkha. We booked a table for the Saturday night for 19:30 but when we arrived it was virtually empty. We gave our order... More
