Stayed four nights whilst on business in the area, the hotel and rooms are very nice, plenty of parking and an excellent pub (Red Lion) a five minute walk away. The room could have benefited from a fan as it was warm, but I would return. The reviews saying this hotel is terrible need tagging as they are obviously deluded.

Have stayed at this hotel a couple of times. Rooms allocated were in a building nearby and rather reminded me of nurse's quarters or a sort of upmarket student accommodation. Nothing like the picture on the DeVere website. Double bed was really narrow and just a little wider than a single. Only one chair in the double room, so would... More

It's lovely building, seemingly in the middle of nowhere, with attractive grounds. Our room was on the top floor of the main building, with beautiful views over the garden. The room was clean and spacious, but very hot on the first night. It was July and we left the windows open for the next day, the subsequent night was fine.... More

Booked in for 3 nights with work. Having stayed in all of the lesser rooms previously, the only ones I would entertain are in the main manor, so that's what I booked. Upon arrival I was given a room in the lodge, which is basically at the end of their drive. A few mins walk. Absolutely not what I booked... More

I stayed here for one night on business. I stayed in the main house and had a lovely, large room on the top floor. There was no air con so I had to open all the windows as it was a hot night but I had a great nights sleep which is rare for me when staying in hotels. There... More

I arrived at about 9pm for an overnight stay on business. There was a VERY loud party in progress, plainly audible across the carpark. I was told this wasn't a problem as my room was in one of the other buildings. My double room, which struck me as small & slightly shabby, was also incredibly hot - I'd guess about... More

Off the beaten track, which means it is nice and quiet. I was in a lodge at the bottom of the drive, so really nice and quiet. It took two versions of the keycard to get into the annex and then my room, but this was reasonably quickly arranged. Staff were all young people who didn't really make a professional... More

I drove up the drive to a beautiful country house. I could imagine sitting on the lawn, drinking a Pimms and watching the young play croquet on the lawn. Inside the hotel is just as grand, with a sweeping staircase and wood panelling everywhere. My room was a little tired, but perfectly sufficient. There is an air of waiting to... More

We spent a terrible cold February night here with no gas, no heating and no hot water. After a microwave pizza in the restaurant, we huddled together in a cold bed and washed with the water from the kettle. The Hotel manager offered us a complimentary night so in April we booked a room here for Tuesday. We arrived tired... More

My husband and I held our wedding reception here in May, and it was an utterly perfect day. The place was spotless and set up beautifully, the grounds were perfectly maintained and the staff could not have done enough to make our day special. The gorgeous weather helped. The waiting staff were always on hand during the drinks reception with... More
