We needed somewhere close to Plymouth where the commute would be easy. This is just off the main road. The room we had was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. It was a little tired and it would perhaps be an idea for the mirror to be hung vertically rather than horizontally so short people like ourselves can... More

Found The Smithaleigh Hotel on tripadivsor and it lived up to our expectations. The room was clean and well furnished. We stayed 2 nights bed and breakfast but also used the restaurant for evening meals. The food was excellent and the staff could not have been more helpful. they even went to the trouble of insisting that they could provide... More

Came here for lunch on Christmas Day , cannot fault anything. Canapés on arrival , plenty to go around, fantastic 3 course meal. Great atmosphere , friendly staff , smiles all the way. Nothing was too much to ask for. 5*****.

Stayed here for 2 nights as we were visiting relatives in the area. Wish we had found this hotel before.Pleasant staff, warm, clean room and very comfy bed.We didn't use the restaurant because we ate with relatives, but will certainly try the restaurant next time .

WOW. i loved this hotel. The staff were the most friendly people in world. I found them helpful and willing to go that extra mile for their guests. When I got to to the hotel I proposed to my girlfriend (she said yes if you all wanted to know) but the hotel did help me set everything up. The rooms... More

A really nice family run hotel with a lot of personality. The service was great and every member of staff was brilliant. Room was lovely and bed was very comfortable, Food in the restaurant was a really high standard and competes with some of the Michelin star restaurants we have eaten in (and very reasonably priced) Will definitely be returning.

Very pleasant stay while visiting friends . Originally put on the 1st floor but as i was on crutches i couldn't manage the stairs so I was lucky enough to go in one of the ground floor rooms - which was part of the old 'stables. Only fault i do have is that the step into the accommodation room was... More

We stayed at the hotel for the weekend and were very pleased with the room we were allocated ( room 28 in the farmhouse). It was very comfortable and had lovely views of the well maintained garden. There was a group of ten of us that ate in the restaurant ; you really need to hold onto that chef as... More

I paid £60 (no breakfast) and stayed in room 16. On first impression looked ok though the bed alarmed me at how low it was. It was when we got into bad later that night that we realised something was off. After getting up several times in the night due to backache we realised the bed had a massive dip... More
