Stopped off en route to St Ives-a lovely welcome, very friendly ladies. Clean and tidy and most importantly Tasty breakfast baps and toast and well priced too. Nice surroundings for a stretch of the legs :-)

I stayed for one evening for a business trip. I stay away quite a lot all over the country in chain hotels and independent ones also. I found the hotel to be in a nice location not far from the main roads. I was greated in a warm and friendly manner and given a brief rundown of the essentials upon... More

I'm torn between a poor and average rating but the very nice breakfast and reasonable price has tipped it over to average. The room was OK, just! The bathroom must have been designed by a monkey and that was probably 20 years ago. The door into the shower clashed with the bathroom door and was mounted on the wrong side... More

Either the standards here fluctuate alarmingly or others have rose tinted glasses. I booked this as all the Premiere Inns were booked because of an event in the city but will not stay here again. On arrival I had some problems in proving I had paid in advance but once sorted I was directed across a yard to the rooms-... More

Thank you for taking the time to write a review on Tripadvisor. I'm sorry to hear you didn't experience our normal high standards during your stay. I will personally be looking in to your feedback. We are trying to maintain homely & family feel to our hotel rather than offering standardized product. With this in mind our prices are adjusted... More

Having downloaded the online Menu we were impressed and living locally we thought we would try it. On route we had already made our choices and were looking forward to having a good meal. On arrival we ordered the drinks only to find that both the beers had run out and the barrels needed changing, Ok that can happen anywhere.... More

Thank you for your comments regarding your recent dinner with us. I'm really sorry to see that you were disappointed. We have new Head Chef who is adding his own touch to our menus, keeping in with the 'home made' freshly cooked & locally produced' theme we take pride in. I'm also surprised you made your choices on your way... More

Stayed here for the week last week. Staff lovely and friendly as usual, breakfast excellent even though. I am gluten free and pregnant , the chef always catered for me even if it meant adapting ( thank you) . This hotel is an ideal base for the south hams , Devon and Plymouth and I will be back soon .... More

Stayed here recently and thoroughly enjoyed myself, the staff (especially Donna, Danna and Pamela) made me feel very welcome. The food was fantastic for the price, kudos to the chef! The rooms were basic but clean, all in all, I had a fantastic stay and would definately stay again!!!

Managed to get a two night booking at short notice. Thank you staff for making us welcome. However the "chef" could only make scrambled egg in a frying pan! My wife returned her burnt offering but five-six minutes later was presented with a duplicate version. Sorry chef but if you had learnt to use a microwave you could have presented... More

Thank you very much for your review, it's good to hear you felt welcome! We used to make our scrambled eggs in frying pan, as our food theme is home made and fresh and the traditional way to prepare scrambled eggs is in frying pan. After feedback such as yours we have reviewed and adjusted our scrambled eggs cooking procedure!... More

Our room (number 23) and the bed it contained were both above average size and very comfortable. The bathroom was also a good size, the room was quiet (despite a function going on) and overlooked the garden. I would have rated the hotel a lot higher if the breakfast had been edible but it was very poor. Tough bacon, cheap... More
