What a shame, were kindly invited to dinner by friends who on making the booking informed the hotel that I suffered from coeliac disease. On arrival we reminded the waiter of my illness and he was most attentive and appeared knowledgable as to what I could have from the menu. The meal ordered, bread was delivered to the table, when... We booked two rooms here as we were attending a wedding at a nearby hotel and were given a very reasonable deal. On booking we were advised that there were parties being held at the hotel on both nights that we were staying but that we would be given rooms as far away as possible from the parties. When we... We thought this place was going to be great. However it didn't pass the "basics" test. It's located in Plympton, an interesting village within Plymouth and was formerly a nunnery. They moved out because it was too close to the road and too noisy. Here lies one of the problems. It's primarily a wedding and events venue with rooms. So... More

If you are security conscious, if you are a light sleeper, if you want to wash with a bar of soap then you may NOT want to stay here. But more of that later. The hotel is approached down a lovely , narrow entrance road which gives the impression of a hotel isolated (falsely) in its own gounds . The... More

A very nice property in charming village setting. Hotel a bit maze-like, but staff are hospitable and attentive. No concierge service. Lunch and dinner generous and good. Rooms renovated and tidy in modern furnishing. Warm. Wifi good. More

We went to St Elizabeths for a mini-break, just the two of us, whist our teenage children were all engaged on school trips. We loved the ambience and style of the hotel - it is very contemporary yet retains the traditional feel that the age and history of the building demands. It is quiet and tucked away from the cares... The Hotel is very good. The restaurant stuff isn't. Furthermore we booked and after 1 hour from booking time we received our drinks and food. Actually there was a party, nevertheless such a hotel deserve a better restaurant. More

First impressions as you approach were that the hotel is situated in a quiet area, and set amid pleasant gardens. Inside, there is a 1920's feel to the bar/reception area, with a lot of original fittings, and old photos around, which works well for this hotel. The service we received during our two night stay was very good, we particularly liked... More

Well maintained hotel & grounds, pleasant staff, comfortable rooms. However, be aware the windows are single-glazed so noisier than expected on road side. Also they do a lot of weddings - and leave the garlands up all the time despite my arriving during a wake! My radiators were not working for some reason on a chilly night/morning,despite turning them up.... More
