We stayed here as we were walking the Peddars Way. Being next to the church it is easy to find and on arrival we enjoyed a fresh pot of tea - not surprising as it is a cafe as well as a B&B. Frank showed us to our rooms which were clean and pleasant. Being an old cottage they have... More

Castle Gate B&B was recommended to us and we had a lovely stay there (3 nights). The owners, Frank and Sheila, were very welcoming and we found their local knowledge very useful. The B&B is an ancient and characterful building - just what we like! Breakfast set us up for the day - high quality, just the right quantity and... More

I stayed for 2 nights while attending a wedding in West Lexham. I would highly recommend this lovely B&B. Perfect in fact. Every part of my short stay there was excellent and I would not hesitate to return.

I understand other reviewers comments about cramped room. I found it ok for the one night stay that I had. At least the shower worked well which is not always the case, the bed was comfortable and breakfast delicious. My only criticism is ,at my time of arrival, there was no notice to advise that you have to walk into... More

Wonderfully comfortable bed at end of a long day walking. Wide selection for breakfast which was well cooked. Room was quiet and cosy, had everything I needed and a television.Staff were kind andreally knowledgeable about the area.

I have repeated Helen K's review made a week ago titled cramped b&b. and made changes according to my experience. - It goes -The room was extremely small. The shower door opened into the bedroom so no privacy. It had a large toilet so space was not well used. My comments - The breakfast was fine with fresh fruit etc.Being... More

I have been doing this B&B & tea room for 15yrs. We have had thousands of people stay. We have had a four star standard from English tourism for 14 of those years. No one has ever described this as extremely small, or badly designed or cramped. We have many many repeat customers. We have 12 years of visitor books... More

The room was extremely small. The shower door opened into the bedroom so no privacy. It had a large toilet so space was not well used. Also it was not particularly clean. The breakfast was okay but staff attitude was not the best.

I didn't recognise our B&B from your review, as you can see from our other reviews and we have consistently been No1 of 7 for some time. We have also in the same week as your stay received a certificate of excellence from trip advisor. We have been operating this premise for 15 years. We have had thousands of visitors... More

We popped in on the half chance that they had any rooms for the night. The owner said he only had one room, which was his smallest, but it was fine for us for the night. The owner was very helpful, informing us of the local pub that served food. The breakfast was excellent, enhanced by a selection of fresh... More

Really nice little place .. small rooms but comfortable, good shower and all facilities provided, more or less across the road from Ostrich Pub where you can get a good meal, cosy fire in breakfast room and fantastic cooked breakfast, nice hosts, wouldn't hesitate to recommend
