my new wife and myself took our caravan for a 3 night mini honeymoon . ate out three nights at the forge , the food was on par with many other restaurants but was shocked at the price of a large glass of wine at £6.50 our pitch was in the yellow dragonfly area and was enclosed on each side... More

It's a lovely area to camp - surrounded by woodland and peaceful scenery. There is something for everyone there: swimming pools, a gym, entertainment and even fishing and woodland trails. Never tire of going there and are looking forward to our next stay next month :)

This is a great place, with accommodation to suit all prices and taste. They have really worked hard at the facility's here and every thing is spot on, we stayed in a mid range price cabin which could easily hold 6 people. We found it very clean and well organized in the lay out. 2 toilets and large shower. Both... More

My girlfriend and I visit every year, and every year we find something else to like about this place. We stay in the same caravan every year as owned by my family, but the setting is so unique that coming back is a joy. Food is reasonably priced and of good quality, the staff are always friendly and helpful and... More

MY wife & I have just spent a fabulous weekend here with our daughter and family, so three generations together. We hired two s/c woodland lodges and found they were superb. Spacious with quality appliances, cutlery, crockery etc. They were located in a quiet, peaceful environment with all manner of cheeky wildlife passing by. We had "mixed" weather so planned... More

Stayed with daughter and 3-year old granddaughter for 1 week in one of the "Heron" static caravans. Accommodation was comfy and quite spacious. We arrived to be greeted by a grey squirrel, much to granddaughter's delight. Minor drawback was that the caravan (which they describe as a luxury holiday home) was located in a wooded area consequently quite shaded which... More

We only stayed there 2 nights in a tent after not being there for about 15 years and my god how it has changed for the better. Really enjoyed the weekend and the weather made it even better. In the evening we were able to sit out in the outside seating area and there was entertainment on both nights outside.... More

My husband and I have just returned from a 2 week stay at this lovely site. The setting is absolutely stunning. We have never known a campsite so peaceful and so beautifully kept. We have a touring caravan and found there was plenty of room for us. The staff were very friendly and although the restaurant does charge top prices... More

Myself, my husband and our children aged 9 and 6 have just returned from a 6 day stay in the Chestnut Lodge. The lodge was amazing, spacious, spotlessly clean, well equipped kitchen. The en-suite was a bonus! The camp is fabulous. Friendly staff, well stocked village store and not too pricey like some on site shops. The food in the... More

I was disappointed with this campsite. It didn't live up to the website. On site pub was over priced and over crowded. Shop was expensive, they even charge you to re freeze your ice blocks!! Good location and the steam trains nearby are a definite must. Overall it was an average experience.
