We usually stay as a couple my wife and I. This time we stayed with our lurcher. It is always good when we stay here, and we have visited The George and Dragon several times over the years. Food was good, atmosphere was great, beer great and the cider was excellent. Gary the landlord gave a speech about cider and... More

we booked a table here for a Saturday night and were pretty darn pleased with the considerable selection of local ales on offer - well kept and poured. The menu is typical pub fare and fairly unimaginative - definitely not the place to come if you're on a diet. It was pretty busy and our food took a good hour... More

Having mentally been battered and bruised from our visit to the Sun Inn near by it was with some trepidation that my wife, myself and our three legged dog sought sanctuary in The George & Dragon. The difference between the two pubs in the same village is vast. The clientele were welcoming and all embracing. The food was top notch... More

My Husband and I stayed at the George and Dragon for one night. The pub has a warm and friendly atmosphere, the food was lovely, and they have a good range of beers and Lagers-which I may had was top notch. The room was cosy with a comfortable bed. The breakfast (cooked by Teresa) was lovely. The pub is dog... More

Stayed in the G&D whilst walking the Howgills. Rooms are comfortable, but are a tad utilitarian as is often the case with pub accommodation. Dinner was standard pub food, but was pleasant enough and substantial after a day on the hill. The beers, on the other hand, were excellent. This hotel is the brewery tap for the well respected Dent... More

Called into The George and Dragon after a stroll around the dales to find a charming welcoming pub offering many brews to choose from. Average price per pint around £3.30 so not too expensive. Didn't know they had free WiFi as it wasn't advertised in the pub but will know for next time as i'm sure i will be back... More

Cyclists don't normally do pubs but this one had signs outside advertising walkers/cyclists/families/pets welcome as well as lots of awards, and there seemed to be no caff in Dent so I gave it a go. Proper espresso and an excellent scone. Wifi. Friendly banter with the octogenarian luncheon club! I cheekily put my clean, dry bike just inside the entrance... More

We travelled 30 miles to have lunch in this pub, and to sample the ales. There was only one Dent ale available (@ 6%). We had fish and chips - deep frozen reheated coly (?) and thin oven chips. Cheap, granted. The TV was on - and intrusive.....a soap, if I recall. We asked the landlord to switch it off... More
