This place is a total gem and Hotels like this are few and far between. Mike and Rowena make you feel completely welcome and nothing is to much trouble. While there it soon became apparent that Mike and I shared a love of Fawlty Towers but this place is the total opposite to that great comedy of long suffering guests.... More

We stayed here partly due to the very positive reviews, and also because of the lack of decently priced accommodation in Bath itself. We were not disappointed. Rowena greeted us like old friends and gave us a tour - a lovely house where we immediately just felt at home. We had booked a room in the Coach house, so she... More

We stayed only one night but would love to come back again. Huge bed in a large room with a superbly eclectic selection of furniture from around the world. Everything was of the highest quality and we felt right at home immediately thanks to our hosts. Would recommend in a heartbeat. More

We headed off to Somerset for an impromptu weekend away and found a good deal on late rooms. With the great reviews here, we thought "what the heck" and booked in. We showed up a little early on Saturday and were shown around by the people who are looking after the place whilst the innkeepers are enjoying a holiday. We... More

We had a lovely weekend stay at The House. The building is very grand, with lovely rural views. The rooms were very comfortable, although we could hear a bit of noise from the communal spaces at times. The hotel serves a continental breakfast as standard, with the option of a cooked meal at a small extra cost. There is lots... More

We turned up at this place on the way to Bath at about 6pm. We were intrigued by the sign "Share a Bed with us". We hadn't seen any of the reviews but after reading these would have to agree it is quirky but a good place to stay. The owners are currently on holidays and the place is being... More

We booked here last minute on Late Rooms. We didn't expect much as the pictures just do not do it justice in the slightest. As soon as we arrived we were amazed by how beautiful it was. The people that run it, Rowena and Mike, are so friendly, you feel more like a part of the family than a guest.... More

Having read the reviews on 'the House at Woolverton', I got the impression that this would be a nice place to stay, if not a little quirky - we wanted to try something different. I booked a night for my boyfriend as a birthday present, following a visit to Longleat Safari Park. Upon arrival, any worries I had about this... More

We celebrated our 25th Wedding Anniversary at 'the House at Woolverton' - a return visit to the hotel where we spent our wedding night.  I can safely say that the House is completely different and wonderfully so.  If you want a colonial country house (with a twist), a retreat in the country, good hosts, good food and a relaxing stay... Yes, this is a little bit different from your usual hotel, whether it be a 5 star or less. This little bit of difference however is what made it such an enjoyable 2 night stay. No warbrobes, but hangers, frogs, rooms with various themes, breakfast in the large conservatory, overlooking lawns and fields. Choice of continental or full english breakfast.... More
