Lois and Ted provide a well equipped, clean, tidy and peaceful place to stay, even down to fresh milk and chocolate bars in our room fridge. Breakfast is a always freshly cooked to order and is a tasty, substantial meal. Overall a peaceful, tranquil place to stay with friendly, cheerful very helpful owners.

With so many glowing reviews already written, there is little more that we can add to the universal acclaim given to Lois and Ted. As the owners of Ashton House, their friendly welcome treated us more as friends than just guests. Our spacious room and en-suite looking over open country and a vineyard, set behind the ample car guest's car... More

I highly recommend a stay at Ashton House. I come here from France several times a year when I drive my daughter to Windlesham House School which is very closely located. The house is beautiful, the environment is calm and restful, very much appreciated after a long journey. The rooms are very confortable and well decorated (I now know them... More

I spent five nights at Ashton House and enjoyed my stay very much indeed. The double bedroom was large, the bathroom larger than the bedrooms in some B&Bs I've stayed in, and I had a comfortable sofa to sit on at the end of a long day (other B&Bs take note). My room was cleaned to perfection every day and... More

I would recommend this B&B highly. The hosts are very welcoming and helpful with supplying local knowledge, and it was a pleasure to meet them. The rooms are well decorated, clean, and well equipped, even including a small fridge, fresh milk for tea and coffee, and chocolate bars which made my son happy. Breakfast was freshly cooked. It was a... More

Having recently stayed at Ashton House and thoroughly enjoyed the experience, I was astounded to read the review posted by "Urban_Traveller_LDN". Whoever this is clearly does not understand the etiquette associated with small B&Bs; you do not arrive at lunchtime and expect to be admitted - 4.30pm onwards is more usual - and it is also common practice for breakfasts... Very clean but basic, felt we would have had more room in a travel lodge. Very welcoming hosts. We had the studio apartment as we had a dog so had our own front door, very useful. Found the breakfast very ordinary, but hot and well cooked. Didn't like the family car parked right under our bedroom window. Lack of information as... More

We tried our best with this couple - and their dog - and gave them our ground floor studio. We normally don't allow dogs but we let it go for this couple. We thought they were happy and were indeed very friendly. Apparently the room was 'basic'. TV, fridge, sofa, ensuite bathroom , microwave, toaster, electric hob. Be interested to... More

A little paradise in a lovely village in a great location so that you can walk to all the village amenities. As an absolute stranger to the area Mr and Mrs Howl were so welcoming, hospitable and very helpful. The room was very clean, quiet and comfortable with tea, coffee and lovely biscuits. The breakfast was wonderful with so much... More

I stayed at Ashton House for the first time earlier this year when I was visiting the area for a job interview. Lois and Ted went the extra mile to make me feel welcome and even left me a good luck card on the day! Recently I stayed for a longer period when I was house hunting in the area... More
