We loved the beautiful countryside setting close to the Welsh hills, the approach along a fine avenue of lime trees, and the hotel's pleasing mix of 17th century, Victorian and modern features. Staff - and owners - were very friendly and welcoming. We found the 2 night midweek break excellent value, and we were given a large and attractive suite.... more

This place is a real find! Really first class; highly renovated/decorated rooms with all the privacy and charm of an old British mansion house. I booked this based on some reviews, which made it sound appealing. I was not disappointed. The beds are plush and the bathrooms are super luxurious! The hotel is gorgeous and secluded perfect for a romantic... more

My Husband booked this Hotel for my 40th Birthday. He phoned to book, then phoned a few weeks later to arrange a bottle of Champagne, flowers and a cake. The Hotel had no record of the booking. My Husband then re-booked and was told we were definately "in the book", my Husband also asked for a confirmation e-mail to be... more

stayed for two nights on their mid-week deal, excellent. Very good value. The hotel is a romantic gem! The Stables restaurant is very warm, welcoming, has a very good a la carte menu and a great selection of wine. The room we stayed in 'south tower suite' had a great view of the gardens and a nice lounge area. Our... more

Found the hotel/restaurant originally through the Michelin guide "Eating out in Pubs', but then found the hotel web site offering half-price weekend breaks. Previous reviews of the hotel via this web site gave us the confidence to book the weekend and it was really wonderful. The hotel rooms, stables restaurant and especially the helpful and friendly staff made a really... more

I stayed in Soughton Hall for 3 nights on a business trip. I had a 'nose' around several of the other rooms that my colleagues were staying in and each one I saw was beautifully decorated and had its own charm. The staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful! - lighting a fire for us the minute we came... more

Lovely location; lovely rooms and quaint throughout. For business its a bit of a waste of time but if you are looking for beautiful rooms and a romantic break (although bring your credit card and make sure theres space on it), this is the business. more

Being American and accustom to staying at Ritz or Four Season Hotels, I found Soughton Hall to be a true charmer. Granted, no room service or mini-bar, but the staff was wonderful, room was delightful and clean, and the grounds are spectacular. If you are looking for a place to truly relax, I cannot recommend anywhere else in N. Wales.... more

Soughton Hall is fantastic. The grounds are beautifully kept throughout all the seasons, inside is so relaxing you can totally switch off and the food is delicious. Each of the bedrooms are individually decorated and even the cheaper ones are stunning (not always the case in some 4/5 star hotels). Yes, its not cheap but you certainly get what you... more
