Pretty okay accommodation. Quite clean (kitchen not seen nor used though), nice showers and comfy beds. The owning couple seem to have some hoarding characteristics, there's a lot of stuff in the 'common room'. You'll have to prepare though, the guy is a bit odd and peculiar, though very nice.

If you went to sleep and dreamt of your worst nightmare accommodation... and then woke up to find it wasn't a nightmare at all... yes, you have now arrived at the The West Highland Way Sleeper!! I'm not old enough to have lived in Medieval London, but if I were old enough I can imagine there would be enough similarities... More

I have stayed here 3 times in the past and it was good, but had a stay in July with friends and family and the place is just awful. The main problem is that the couple running it are, at best incompetent and probably in need of psychiatric attention. The place is run down and in need of a good... More

We emailed a few days before to confirm our booking etc like we did for every other hostel we stayed at and the owner Steve had said we hadn't paid and were not booked in. We conversed... More

We just came back from a massive days walking, as we were doing the West Highland Way but the guy didn't let us in and was the grumpiest most unhelpful person I've ever met. The beds were dirty and really uncomfortable. The next day he said "don't follow the WHW path at the start because it is all bog and... More

After an exhausting day of walking and climbing I was cautiously looking forward to getting my head down after a hot shower. I say cautiously as I had read previous reviews. Nothing could prepare me or my 6 friends for the smell that hit us when we opened the door to the rooms. The place was disgusting!!!! Obviously hadn't been... More

It seems that bad reviews can be infectious. Overall the focus has been on bad customer service. And yes, the bunkhouse doesn't open until 5pm (this was made perfectly clear to me on the phone). And, yes the showers are rubbish (Steve, please sort this out as I spent 15 minutes trying not to flay my skin off or freeze... More
