Stayed here back in Aug while doing WHW, I dont even know where to start, other than, what a same, this place could be fantastic. The place was dirty, I was gagging in the morning at the stench of mold and mildew in the bathroom. You have to make up your own bed and strip it in the morning, never... More

Unless the owners have fumigated the bunkhouse and common room etc since last week, give this midden a wide berth! It was filthy - an absolute disgrace - not to mention expensive at £25pp per night. The couple in charge should be ashamed of themselves for bringing Scotland's hospitality into disrepute.

OK, so the rooms are not large and the bunks are 3 tier but the mattresses are soft and comfortable, heaters and even boot airers (to dry wet boots) are provided in the rooms as well as a heated clothes airer in the communal room. A great help for wet walkers. Helen and Steve are friendly and provided a plentiful... More

We arrived after a short section of the West Highland Way and didn't rush as we couldn't get in until 5pm. Which isn't great especially if its raining. You could wait in the pub down the road though. The communal area needs a clean and its pretty cluttered. The rooms where warm and clean however the bathrooms needed to be... More

I stayed in the `west highland way sleeper hostel` with a friend for only 1 night and i swore to myself: NEVER AGAIN! The hostel is located ON the train station (which is the minor problem as trains are not running that often), but the problem is the couple running the "buisness", more specifically Steve, the owner. He arrived at... More

Pretty okay accommodation. Quite clean (kitchen not seen nor used though), nice showers and comfy beds. The owning couple seem to have some hoarding characteristics, there's a lot of stuff in the 'common room'. You'll have to prepare though, the guy is a bit odd and peculiar, though very nice.

If you went to sleep and dreamt of your worst nightmare accommodation... and then woke up to find it wasn't a nightmare at all... yes, you have now arrived at the The West Highland Way Sleeper!! I'm not old enough to have lived in Medieval London, but if I were old enough I can imagine there would be enough similarities... More

I have stayed here 3 times in the past and it was good, but had a stay in July with friends and family and the place is just awful. The main problem is that the couple running it are, at best incompetent and probably in need of psychiatric attention. The place is run down and in need of a good... More

My friend and I just recently done the west highland way! We booked and paid for this place a month before starting WHW. We emailed a few days before to confirm our booking etc like we did for every other hostel we stayed at and the owner Steve had said we hadn't paid and were not booked in. We conversed... More
