We thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay at the Loch Leven Hotel, the views are spectacular, the room comfortable and newly refurbished, the food excellent - but what made it special is the friendly atmosphere, both the staff and the locals in the bar. we benefitted from excellent weather which allowed us to explore along the banks of the loch and... more

I stayed at Loch Leven hotel for a long weekend to go walking up the beautiful Glen Coe mountains! The hotel is situated close to the Loch and has a garden area not far from the water which was really nice to sit in the sun there when we arrived! The staff were very friendly, they would chat to you... more

We have just stayed from 11th March 2009 until 17th March 2009 - this place is absolutely excellent. We took our two Westie dogs and could not have been made more welcome. The location is excellent, the atmosphere is very relaxing and the staff are superb. Having read some of the negative comments I can only disagree whole heartedly. Go... more

we stayed the week after New Year and took our 2 year old and small dog. We stayed in room 9 (I think!) which was at the back and basic but comfy and very clean and well worth the 65 pounds per night for a family room. Our room was also cleaned daily and our beds made (and tea etc... more

I have lost track of the number of times we have stayed at the Loch Leven, but at least eight or ten visits over the years. The former owner, old friend Nairn McArthur and his family, still live nearby and the current owner, Hilary Wilson, has done a fine job of sprucing the place up. Now, I must say, if... more

Stayed in room 12 for 5 nights for a birthday weekend and couldn't have been more comfortable. All staff were extremely friendly and helpful and made us very welcome. Bedroom was cleaned daily with fresh towels regularly. What more do you need? Loch Leven has got great atmosphere, its own bar, restaurant (with good food) and a lounge bar, something... more

Now then. I enquired via e-mail initially and was replied to by Hilary who could not have been more helpful to the extent of advising us of the best scenic route to take from Aberdeen. ~(which we followed and it was fantastic)! On arrival I was a bit bemused as the rear of the hotel is where the car park... more

Thank you for your honest comments, we all try our very best here to make our guests welcome and our food is very good. The hotel has been here for more than 300 years so I can't do much about its position and the car park can only be at the back since the front has the slopping garden to...
