A hotel in a beautiful part of the country with very efficient and friendly staff. However do not book unless guaranteed a loch-facing room. Our room was not to the standard you would expect for over £100 per night; it adjoined the hotel drying room which had machinery grumbling all night and backed directly onto a busy 'A' road. Our... more

Lovely friendly staff. Nice food. No extra hidden prices. Free use of nearby leisure facilities (included in the price you have paid, not an extra). Beautiful views. They could not have been more accommodating. A little pricey but lovely! more

The best thing by far about this hotel is the view and the garden - stunning. If you are looking to stay here, please request a loch facing room, as there are 2 or 3 rooms that face the road and have no view at all. They look onto the a82 - not nice. The majority of the rooms are... more

Whilst visiting relatives in Scotland we decided to book a couple of days away further North. Although it is a quiet period between Xmas and Hogmanay we at least expected the heating to be on in our room on arrival. It took two hours to get to a reasonable temperature. The room was of adequate size and very clean but... more

We have just returned, with our friends, from a 3 day Hogmanay package at the Onich Hotel. The hotel and the staff are fantastic! Combine that with the breath taking views and food to die for and you have a hotel that you never want to leave. We stayed in a wonderful loch view room, which was clean, spacious and... more

We have just returned from a 3 night stay. We were very disappointed since we didn't get the booked "lochview" room, we got "roadview" to a high traffic road. The room interior was old and without any comfort. The breakfast is simple. We got burnt toast and diluted "porridge soup" for breakfast. This hotel was the last one on our... more

Management response from
Onich2008, Reception Manager

With regard to the review of 14th August 2008. I am deeply concerned that the reviewer states that they booked a loch view room but did not receive this. Had this been the case, I would have expected the guests to be immediately upgraded, or given some other kind of recompense for their inconvenience, including looking for alternative accommodation if...

The view from the Hotel was stunning, i would recommend that you ask for a room with a view of the loch otherwise you will be overlooking a very buzy road with no view at all. The staff were very nice. The breakfast was nice, but the meal in the bar was a dissapointment, do not get the steak pie... more

Good place to return to even for us as... more
