My husband took ill our first night here. The doctor was called very quickly and nothing was too much bother. The staff were all fantastic - kind and supportive - and accommodation arranged until he was well enough to travel.

Just spent 3 nights in the Links Villas (managed by the Royal Marine Hotel) on a half-term break. Villa was clean, homely, with stunning views up the coast to Helmsdale and across to the Moray coast. Hotel staff were all welcoming and couldn't have been more helpful. Pool a bit tired but great for children. Lots of cycling and walking... More

A lovely hotel. All the staff, from the manager right through to the cleaners, were so friendly and welcoming (and all British). The room was lovely. Excellent breakfasts and the restaurant food was excellent. A lovely swimming pool and spa which was open all day and we made good use of. I understand the rooms are going to be upgraded... More

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Marine. Excellent old hotel, in a nice location and with excellent swimming facilities. Only problem was the inexperience of the staff. On balance, we'd definitely come back and would say it is worth a visit.

Our 5th stay at the Royal Marine & 2nd Hogmanay package. Highly recommended. Feels like home & the staff are so friendly (although very sad 2 see Rob go).Food lovely too & could only be improved with Swansons fruit & Veg! Where else could provide last minute cufflinks & a set of bagpipes?? Sheila Swanson

My wife and I have eaten out on Christmas Day for many years now, usually in London. We tried something different this year — Christmas in the Highlands at the Royal Marine, Brora. We knew from the warm welcome as soon as we entered that we were in safe and very professional hands. It turned out to be our best... More

This was our first visit to the Marine to eat and found the experience very disappointing The hotel is a very grand building, but the décor doesn't make the most of the grand features. The décor is very bland and uninspiring particularly in the dining room. The dining room is like sitting in an old folks care home and the... More

Stayed here for 2 nights while working in Brora. Room was good and spacious with comfy bed and nice bathroom. Breakfast was also very good as was the dinner that I ate there. The only thing that would have made it better would have been allowing dogs to stay in the entrance room (only because I would have loved to... More

Had a very pleasant short stay at this little gem last night. Although I had been on a couple of occasions before it was some time ago. I was warmly welcomed both by the staff and the blazing fire. I explained that I was on business and may not have returned to the hotel in time for dinner. The chap... More

Been going for years to see family and nothing beats walking the dog on Brora beach first thing in the morning. Great food, and lovely welcome and we love sitting in front of that amazing fireplace. Thank you!
