We got married 6 September 2014 at the Rampsbeck hotel, a year and a half after our first visit there shortly after we got engaged. From the moment we walked in and met the staff we knew this was where we wanted to get married. The grounds and scenery are amazing and the staff have always made us feel so... More

We stayed recently on a two night break. What a lovely place this is! Far from cheap but excellent value for money. The house is a quietly elegant Gentleman's residence; it's easy to imagine Edwardian ladies and gentlemen playing croquet on the lawns. Although perhaps not in November. Our corner room proved to be very spacious with breathtaking views of... More

Beautiful country house hotel in a superb location, wonderful gardens and excellent staff, we stayed [3 couples] for two nights and were very impressed by the standard of rooms, quality and presentation of the menu, the food cannot be faulted and the chefs deserve high praise for there imagination on what is available. The staff are first class and nothing... More

Peaceful country house with real fires and cosy lounges! Food was superb, very helpful staff, but not overbearing! We will certainly return again. Rooms have fresh fruit and refreshments! Bathroom had underfloor heating which was lovely during the winter months! Restaurant was busy every night, food was delicate and well presented!

It is difficult to speak highly enough of this hotel. Unabashed luxury, opulence and perfect service do not come close to describing it. My wife and I have stayed there before, and on this occasion was for on night en route from Scotland to Cheshire. From the moment we arrived everything fell into place. Our room was luxurious. Dinner was... More

Romantic getaway for 1 night and thought we had chosed the right place when we arrived! The staff were very accomodating and we felt special! However, started straight off with afternoon tea which was very poor. I have served much better quality in the past to my children's friends for snacks! The bread was stale and the fillings were cheap!... More

We are so glad we found this wonderful hotel. It was a last minute booking but everything about it exceeded our expectations. Our room (Silver Crag) had a magnificent view of Lake Ullswater. It was a large and airy room with a comfortable seating area. The bathroom was large with a lovely walk in shower and claw foot bath. The... More
