Just spent 3 nights at the Grant Arms .We stayed in Room no. 1. It's a family room, clean, spacious, great beds and bathroom. The only downside was a bit of noise coming from the pub below on friday night. No complaints with the breakfast or the staff. Would we stay again ? Yes.

Stayed with mum to spend time with poorly relative in Bury - booked at very short notice. Price for bed and breakfast very good via booking.com. Rang hotel to ask re stairs as mum is 86 and was told rooms are all on first floor and 2 flights of 10 stairs each to it. Arrive at hotel. Enter through bar... More

hotel is dated but you can see they are trying to make improvements, I think it is a family run business and you can see they are trying to do their best. When we first arrived we were greeted by girl on reception who was very friendly and helpful as were all the staff. The rooms are very basic but... More

I have just spent 2 weeks here whilst working nearby and I am under the impression that the place is part way through trying to make improvements. The staff are very friendly and by and large, so are the natives. The cooked breakfast is very good, no small portions and all freshly cooked. The evening menu is somewhat limited and... More

Entrance difficult to access as one side of door locked. Impossible to get through the open side with any luggage without going in side on. Greeted at dull recepeption by a girl on the phone and a very large dog leaning over the reception. Not the best of first impressions. Room was small but clean enough but really cold and... More

This place is First class value for Money. Really helpful and friendly. Always service with a smile, no faults at all, ideal location to get around, and room comfy and cozy. Stayed several times, good food menu, I would recommend to anyone. Sunday markets are a must see in the courtyard. Lots of novelty and gifts to buy. Really good... More

We booked the Grant arms on Saturday 6th September as we were meeting up with friends who live in Ramsbottom and this hotel is the most central. After booking and reading the reviews I was a little concerned as I have issues with cleanliness. Check in was easy and we was given our key to our room, they are reviews... More

Booked here for one night whilst walking through the area. The pub/hotel occupies a central position in the town. Its glory days are past. As other reviewers have commented the hotel side entrance is closed and access is gained through the less than salubrious bar. The staff were genuinely helpful. My single en suite room was comfortable, clean and quiet.... More

We stayed here as it was not far from the Fisherman's Retreat where our daughter was holding her wedding reception. Although the young lady on reception was helpful the entrance is incredibly shabby and the rooms had not been cleaned properly with rubbish from previous occupants left in drawers. It is clear that the place has recently been refurbished as... More

I booked this hotel for my wife and kids for the weekend (11th and 12th July 2014) as I was staying with a friend who had no more room! It was booked via a third party and breakfast was supposed to be included; turns out it wasn't, and it gets worse from there on. the hotel itself smelled musty, particularly... More

Grant A, Manager at The Grant Arms Hotel, responded to this review

I agree that the ground floor is a pub. The hotel entrance is kept closed for the security of the guests but there are 2 doorbells which can be heard from all areas of the building. This means guests can gain access without having to go to the bar area. There is also a direct contact number for the manager... More
