It is difficult for old buildings like this to achieve modern standards but expecting people coming back after 10pm to use an unlit side door and a key code lock with tiny and unreadable buttons all atop a slippery path and step in the pitch dark is not very welcoming. Good location in the centre of Ramsbottom though.

It's got character. Old historic building but that means rickety in places. Remember it's primarily a pub with a 'hotel' attached. Don't be expecting 'hotel-class service'. The staff will be working in the pub as well as dealing with the hotel side. It's not the place for you if you're pretentious. Otherwise you'll be fine for a night or two.... More

The hotel is very dark and grotty. Carpets and bathroom were so filthy and stained I didn't want to touch them with my bare feet. Towels were dirty and stained when we arrived into the room. One side of the bed was comfortable the other side was broken and sagging. Wifi worked well. Drink in the bar was good value... More

Rooms are unclean and towels are not changed, Showers do not work, just a dribble of water Management not interested just a load of excuses Despite being given a code the wifi doesn't work. A great location near some great restaurants but ... this hotel is quite simply awful

This hotel has so much potential as it is a large, traditional build in a prominent and central location. My room had a sagging bed, holes in the carpet and a very tired bathroom. Some recent effort had been made with the decor of the walls and curtains, but it is futile when everything else is so poor. It was... More

There's not a lot to say. It's a bit grotty... The staff are friendly and the location is perfect but the rooms are tired, not all that clean, we had a kettle but no cups.. It's a shame you are forced to stay here if you come to Rammy as there are only a couple of hotels in the town... More

Attended a wedding here. Function room very nice, good size. Outside catering. Bar service good. However, this is all upstairs in the function area. Take the steep stairs down to the lower bar and it is a different story. Very difficult to get a cup of coffee. Locals making the music player their own along with volume choice. Better selection... Thankfully when I visited i wasn't spending too much time in the Hotel. I left my bags, went to watch the Cricket then arrived back at my room at 23:00. So i didn't notice the flaking Artex on the ceiling, or the dirty carpet. Nor did i try the shower. What I did notice, though was the noise from the... More
