Stayed here October two nights. Location perfect for walking to Brighton Marina and or on to Brighton along the top of cliffs or undercliff walk. or there is a good bus service outside hotel. Found staff very friendly ,food good, we had a balcony room overlooking sea well worth the extra. Downside, hotel needs some loving care, cannot believe a... More

I have stayed at the White Horse on many occasions over the years and love the surroundings, the view, and the friendliness of the staff who could not do enough to please. The hotel decor is past it's best but it's always clean, and the breakfast excellent (and freshly cooked). However, on my last stay I found that there has... More

We stayed overnight at the White Horse. Right beside the sea in a lovely location. The staff were very helpful - even to helping with the cases as there was no lift and the room was both spacious and comfortable. We invited some local friends to dinner and had a most enjoyable evening. A tip - the car park is... More

We were cheerfully welcomed on our arrival at reception and given our room key, our bags were carried up to our room for us, without having to ask and on reaching the room were pleasantly surprised by how spacious it was . A large double bed(very comfortable) a settee, arm chair coffee table ,desk and chair, large flat screen TV... More

We stayed in this hotel for two nights. The beds were very comfy and soft. The rooms were a good size quite big. The bathroom was a good size with a shower and a bath. The breakfast was lovely there was always a wide choice of food.

Great location, good for a one or two night stay, very handy for the frequent buses along the coast. The hotel itself is in need of a good clean, sticky tables ,stains on walls, worn carpets, but the bed was spotless and comfortable the bathroom was clean and towels soft and fluffy. The young waitress at breakfast was very pleasant and her smile and demeanour... More

What a lovely experience our night in Rottingdean was! A lovely village with a super little church with a Burne-Jones window, a pretty garden dedicated to Kipling and a local pond. And you really do need to see the Tudor close! Wow! If I'm really pedantic the hotel is just a little tired, but the room was clean the bed... More

This hotel has a great location overlooking the beach with very good sea-view rooms with balcomies. We have stayed here many times and enjoyed the slightly "old-fashioned" hotel experience. However, the management has changed and everything was not quite as good as usual. This was particularly the case at check-in, where the unsmo=ling Manageress spent more time warning (threatening?) us... More

We travelled in August, and loved the balcony room with sea view. No lift so difficult for the mobility challenged but worth the effort. The decor is crumbling but the room was clean and the staff friendly. Rottingdean is quaintly old fashioned but close to Brighton. Hope to go back another time.

Ideal location at the beach. Beautiful view of the beach and sea. Great walks. Lovely little pubs and nice food. Adorable village. Renowned people such as Rudyard Kipling the author and Edward Byrne-Jones the painter have had their homes there. These homes still exist and are museums.
