The New Flying Horse is one of the best places I have stayed in in years. It is a lovely traditional English pub and the whole place oozes charm and character while offering a high standard of decoration and facilities. It combines old features with modern fittings beautifully. Due to M25 traffic I was late arriving so had a rushed... More

Stayed for one night whilst visiting family nearby. We were in the main pub building so the room had charm but had been refurbished to provide pretty much everything you need for a comfortable night's stay at a reasonable price. Very clean, comfy bed. Kettle and tea/coffee/hot chocolate in the room and we were told to ask for fresh milk... More

We stumbled on the Flying Horse accidentally, hoping we would find some place similar to special small country hotels we had found before in other parts of England and Scotland. What a great place! We had spent the day at Sissinghurst and arrived late in the afternoon to learn that, yes, there was a room for the wo of us.... More

A truly lovely hotel with a great team of staff. Location was great, just 11 miles from Canterbury. Atmosphere was wonderful, you are made so welcome when you arrive. Fantastic garden, a real bonus was a replica of the garden they showed at the Chelsea Flower show commemorating WW1. A great place to stay. Food excellent. Lovely village to have... More

Very good meal here the other night, great lager on draught and then 3 courses - the fillet steak was perfect. And the lemon pudding sublime. Nice clean and airy restaurant with good light (which is a bit difficult to find in some local restaurants)

We stayed in the annexe across the car park. The room was cosy (small) but smart and well appointed. Ensuite bathroom very nice with a good shower - nice toiletries. The pub smoking area is very close with people chatting and with the pub open until midnight (it was a Friday night) do not expect peace and quiet until late.... More

Just returned from a 2 night stay at this lovely place in the country. It was clean and fresh with a very cosy feel. The restaurant was lovely with 2 different menu styles. One being the pub menu and the other a little more a la carte. Both provided tasty meals and prices were reasonable. If you order the gooseberry... More

Gastro-pubs with rooms can sometimes treat the rooms as something of an after-thought, but that wasn't my experience here. I had a large, comfortable and well-equipped bedroom, with the firm mattress that I welcome. There was a useful desk, with a working chair as well as an armchair, and generous tea and coffee makings. It was far better lit than... More
