Booked the Groupon offer for my partner & another couple. It was ok but not the greatest hotel I've ever been too. It diidnt really work out that cheap in the end. I am glad I booked an executive room as our friends had just a standard room ( who the hell can sleep in a standard bed is beyond... More

My partner and I stayed for two nights last week, following having purchased a deal through Groupon. We had paid £40 extra to upgrade the room, which we were pleased about. The room was quite modern, clean and spacious. No complaints regarding the room. Part of the deal included a two course meal including a bottle of wine. Considering it... More

Very average hotel. Attention needed to cleaning poor bar area not enough seating and not inviting to spend an evening. Bedrooms basic but clean, liitle milk for refreshments. Breakfasts awful, really below average. Only one slow toast machine, poor food selection and not good quality. Hotel is miles away from any pubs or activities.

Spent a night here booked through Groupon. It was meant to be a treat for me and my husband however we were both quite disappointed. The room is basically like a travellodge/premier inn which I could have stayed in for a lot cheaper! We had planned just to stay around the hotel and have a bar snack but the menu... More

we had travelled with a baby so requested a room to accommodate the travel cot as we had read previous guests reports of small rooms. We were in the new part of the hotel and everything about our stay was lovely. The room was spacious and warm, lovely bathroom, staff really friendly and the location is beautiful, we thought from... I stayed at this hotel as part of a short coach break visiting various attractions in the York area. The hotel was comfortable with good size clean rooms - although the television was a bt strange! The bathroom was good and the towels were great! The tour included breakfast (excellent) and a more than adequate evening meal. All in all... More

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights during June 2014 just as a little break to celebrate the end of exams! We found a really good deal on GroupOn and had wanted to visit York for quite some time so were very excited about our stay. The hotel itself is in a very rural location - I really... More

My wife and I stayed for two nights on a dealmonster £79 bed and breakfast offer, travelling south from a weekend in Durham for a family wedding. Yes, the location is very rural, but this allows for a quiet and relaxing stay. The rooms were more than adequate with a good sized bathroom, although the shower arrangement could be improved,... Me and my family had high expectations for this grand hotel but instead we obtained a small room which we struggled to fit the travel cot in and a view of where the rubbish is placed. We stayed over the bank holiday weekend for one night. It was £68 for the Sunday. The plus side to this hotel was the... More

we booked this hotel for a special w/e away, only to find it was no better than a premier inn (in nicer grounds), the room was exactly like a PI, expensive £109 for 2 people for 1 night breakfast extra. Bar staff friendly but rest of place very impersonal. will not be visiting again.
