Just for back from a night at this hotel. Really disappointed, I never leave negative feedback but feel the need to. Me and my partner booked the hotel for a night after a day in York for our anniversary. Our room wasn't the best, the bathroom smelt of urine and the sink tap dripped non stop which was annoying when... More

Even with a refurb, this will still look like a a hospital build in the seventies. Receptionist was brutally unfriendly, cracking a smile would not hurt. Food was expensive, which is why we ate out, breakfast, lunch and dinner! Bar was nothing more than a square room with a few chairs dotted about, hard to relax in. The room was... More

Its such a shame such a large hotel was so empty, having said that its not surprising. The hotel is so out dated. When we entered the room it was like stepping back into the 70s. They have started a refurb program and a leaflet in the room said we could ask to see the show room but when we... More

We stayed for four days at the hotel, the food was good, and plentiful. The staff were friendly, and the bar/lounge area comfortable. The towel rail in the bathroom was broken and had the fuse removed. Fortunately we are a hardy couple and it did not bother us. Corridors were warm except for the staircases which had large areas of... More

Absolutely appalling, dirty, grubby, well past it's sell by date. I feel really sorry for all the old folk who obviously go on tours and end up here. Stinks of smoke. Quality is totally the opposite. The lifts spoke better English than the receptionist, who didn't even know where my room was!!!!
