We stayed here for one night due to attending an event at York racecourse. The hotel frontage is very charming and the check in staff freindly. Such a nice hotel. Booked through laterooms for a great price. Wifi worked full strength at around 5Mb all over the hotel. Flatscreen Sony TVs, trouser presses. Bathrooms new and modern. What mixed reviews this hotel has! All I can say is that from walking into reception on arrival to walking out on departure, all the staff were jocular, attentive, pleasant and helpful. Attended this hotel as part of a Murder Mystery package, which was fantastic. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE THIS HOTEL. The poor standard began immediately- having checked in we were guided to our room situated in the annexe. No offer of taking our bags was forthcoming.
