We spent both Christmas day and Boxing Day and New Year's Eve and New Year's Day at The Plough Inn, on both occasions we had a wonderful time, the hotel was decked out ready for the festivities, the staff were friendly and efficient and the food was plentiful and excellent. Our room was lovely, clean and warm and comfortable. New... More

We only called in for a lunchtime pint and were greeted with great enthusiasm from the new owners. We were shown the newly furbished bedrooms, which were excellent. There was a huge log fire in one room, and a smaller one by the bar, The conservatory was home to a glassed in well. The beer was good.

We stayed here for two nights between Xmas and New Year. Seems quiet village just off the A65. We were in room 2 on the ground floor. Good sized clean modern room with firm bed and ensuite. Plenty of hot water for bath after walking all day. Nice little touches like quality toiletries and biscuits, local bottled water on bedside,... More

Sue and I needed a nice place to stay overnight during a visit to the area to view a property. We could not have chosen better. From the first enquiry by phone, to our late afternoon arrival, everything went so smoothly. Gemma and Andrew are such lovely people, so friendly. We had a welcome like no other - even though... We have just returned from a two night stay at this historic inn. First impressions were how warm and cosy it was and the welcome was very friendly. Our room, on the ground floor, overlooked the back of the inn with lovely views across the field of grazing sheep. It was spotlessly clean and lovely and warm. The radiator had... More

Just got back from fantastic weekend here, even if we needed webbed feet! The weather was, errr, just ever so slightly damp, but Gemma made sure everyone's gear and boots were dried and nothing was too much trouble, including making a special surprise pie one night for my son. I was surprised by a complimentary bottle of bubbly in my... More

Revisited the Plough after three years and it really is very, very good. The new owners are obviously trying, and succeeding to please. The bedroom was comfortable, spacious and clean. Food, from a varied menu, was excellent and reasonably priced, as were the drinks. Above all, the owners and staff are very welcoming. Highly recommended!

We had an excellent stay over the weekend. Clean and tidy place to stay with friendly accommodating staff. The menu selection was great with tasty specials on offer. We would recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing get away. Thanks for everything.
