I stayed here for a week when I came to the area on business. The website photos painted a favourable picture of the place but on my arrival I was confronted with what looked like a squat. A very tired and unloved looking place, my room was very basic with a filthy carpet and a TV that didn't work. The... More

We stayed here for a couple of nights whilst visiting the area. The place was being run by temp managers and they tried very hard to make us and other guests feel comfortable. The room was basic, but clean. The bed is getting to the end of its serviceable life, so a new mattress would be recommended. We only ate... More

We had the misfortune to book into the Washford Inn as it was the only place that had vacancies over Christmas... We now know why! Upon arrival we were met by our Landlord to be told there was to be a disco that night... As the rooms we occupied were right above the disco, nobody could sleep because of the... More

Although I tried to allow for the obvious inexperience of the staff upon arrival, we had a totally unpleasant experience and my recommendation would be not to book into this establishment. We were warned that a disco would be taking place until midnight, however we did not expect a private party involving the managements friends (not paying guests) to commence... More

My father and I recently stayed a night at the Washford Inn and we found it offered excellent value and above all, it was suitably located for what we needed to do. My father is a railway enthusiast and the pretty village station is a mere short walk away. The owner/manager, Kieron, was helpful and very accommodating to our requests... More

Stayed here for 2 nights in July before continuing our long journey to st.ives. Owners were very friendly and accommodating. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely and set us up for the day. Took the steam train into Watchett on Sunday and spent a lovely day at Watchett carnival. Can't comment on the bar and food in... More

This place is best avoided if you have an aversion to being ripped off! Food is terrible and this is one place I am over the moon that the portions were minuscule!! The battleaxe landlady is an absolute nightmare and she needs to go on a few courses with regards customer service. I would be amazed, absolutely amazed if this... More

The room had a damp musty smell Shower was poor (No pressure) Bed was uncomfortable Window latch/hinge was broken on our window (Looked like it had been forced before) Breakfast table cloth was covered in stains We had a rude knock on the door at 9.30 telling us we needed to be out before 9.45 as other guests are coming.... Warm welcome on my arrival. Keith and Sue were fantastic hosts. My room was spacious, clean and comfortable. My meals (including breakfast), were very good and I would recommend the Sunday carvery to any passing visitor. I would definitely stay again given the chance.
