I have stayed at The George for the best part of 5 years. The demise in the last 12 months has been shocking. My latest stay was the last straw. From receptionists who are more concerned about your private life, to an owner who obviously doesnt care about the state of his rooms and is more concerned on saving money... More

Seemed like a decent place to stay friendly staff and nice rooms. The hotel looked very clean and the room service is very quick and communication is eat. The town the hotel was in, isn't very nice, there are many drunks and loud mouths at night but there ate msny redtaurants and pubs nearby! Overall I would recommending it to... More

Four of us stayed here for three nights in December. In its day the George was clearly the place to stay in the north Potteries - very grand, spacious, with every conceivable amenity. Now it is somewhat jaded; considerable investment would be required to return it to its former glory. That said, we found our rooms comfortable and the breakfasts... More

A very small carpark not really suitable for vans, but there is parking on the road which is a £1 after 6pm. Receptionist was ok, told me mostly what I needed to know. The room was okay two single beds put together to make a large bed which was still comfortable enough ,though it did take most of the room... More

My friends and I booked our Christmas party here, it was disappointing to say the least. We ordered a bottle of white wine, which was warm. We asked for an ice bucket but it was just cold water. We sat down for our meal at 8pm but the starters did not arrive for another 40 minutes, by which time some... More

I had to find a place too stay at late notice for 3 people. The hotel was reasonable and near where we needed. The hotel looks nice from the outside and we arrived around 9.30 and there was space still in the carpark. Staff were friendly even though they gave us the wrong room key. The decor is dated and... We stayed here for one night on New Year's Eve. The room we had was quite small, although the bathroom was a fair size. The room décor and furnishings were very dated but it was all very clean and the bed was very comfortable. Every time we used the taps or shower for hot water there was a dreadful banging... More

I stayed here for one night during a business trip. The Hotel like the area is run down surrounded by the famous old potteries, now all closed. The Hotel looked as if once it was quite grand and quaint. Just needs a little refurbishment. My room was huge and clean, the staff friendly and welcoming and the bar was perfect... More

We had a booking for 15 people at one of the Christmas dinner parties for which we paid £30 per person. Every member of our party was unhappy with the food. We have written to the hotel to complain and have received no response at all With regards to the starters the King Prawn and Pineapple Cocktail had no dressing... More

Not very impressed. It was £30 a head for a very cheap christmas meal. The disco after the food was ok. The prices at the bar are a rip off. I ordered a pint the bar man goes "£4.40 please" How much???? £4.40 for a pint in Burslem. We will not be back here next year for our christmas party.
