We are actually very frequent visits to the 4Us. Everything about this place - the owners, staff, atmosphere, food etc is first rate. Physically the place is a delight - low beams, roaring log fires, tasteful decor - what what really impresses is the superb welcome and friendliness and efficiency of the staff. Huge menu (and portions!) excellent range of... More

Enjoyed a wonderful lunch today, delicious food, lovely atmosphere and friendly helpful staff. Chocolate Brownie dessert highly recommended - only suggestion was to serve it with cream instead of ice cream. Can also highly recommend the Game Pie when its on the menu.

This pub has such a great ambiance with its low beams, gentle lighting and roaring fire that you feel at home as soon as you walk through the door. The staff smiled and greeted us like old friends even though we haven't been there in quite a while (I didn't recognise the staff) which made us feel very welcome. The... More

If you want an ultra modern city bar with plain whitewashed walls then the isn't the place for you! If you want a veggie health farm then this isn't the place for you! If you want a fast food burger joint then this isn't the place for you! However if you want the quintessential old English country pub with fresh... More

It is very unusual to find such a beautiful place - Suffolk pink, thatched roof, beams and stud work galore set in beautiful countryside - run so dreadfully. It is a painful thing to behold. If this was an animal it would a kindness to have it put down. I will try to give a little flavour of some of... More

Despite a near empty restaurant at the start of the evening my husband I I waited nearly an hour for our main courses. My husband's chips were practically cold but he was so hungry just ate them . The burger looked like processed cheap nasty meat which he just couldn't eat. My steak plate arrived with nasty greasy onion rings... More

Attended a party in nearby village so stayed for just the one night. Room 24 very comfy but very creaky floorboards which considering the age of the property is not surprising. Breakfast second to none with plenty of choices. Staff very friendly and nothing to much trouble. Thanks

Hi, I'm glad you enjoyed your stay with us. Room 21 to 24 date back hundreds of years, we leave the floor boards to creak as they tell the tales of years ago! Thanks again for the kind words, Elliott Knight More

This was our second visit with our travel club, we were greeted when we arrived made our way to the tables bit of a muddle as most of us had been before they knew where they wanted to sit.which left the area with 3 large tables which I hasten to add was a waste as they were not full. It... More

Hi, Firstly I'd like to say I'm pleased that overall you enjoyed your lunch with us, leaving us a 4 out of 5 star rating. In regards to the atmosphere; we do put up our Christmas decorations the last week of November, leaving me a little surprised they went unnoticed. I'm afraid we weren't made aware it was a Christmas... More

The staff here are truly lovely and I do stay here regularly. The food is good and well cooked but I deduct a point for the lack of vegetarian options. The rooms do vary but all are clean and good value
