i love Springwells in Steyning! smashing old building, lovely airy conservatory, wonderful gardens and delicious teas! we have just eaten a wonderful cream tea there, lots of lovely warm, freshly-made scones with really good jam. Only disappointment was that there were no fruit scones, only plain ones, would've been nice to have both!

A very quaint hotel which is very well appointed. Lots of lovely touches and a very well appointed dining room for breakfast. The room was ample sized with a large double four poster bed which was very comfortable. The hotel has a swimming pool available, but the best feature was the staff who were very helpful and friendly. They were... More

A charming stop if you are walking the South Downs Way. Steyning is lovely and the staff and Springwells is just a delight. We particularly enjoyed the complimentary Prosecco and the delicious breakfast!

Phillippa Nudds, the extraordinary manager of Springwells, and her talented staff welcomed us on a rainy October day when my husband and I and a friend chose to take a day off our 110 mile hike to take care of an ear infection and enjoy the beautiful town of Steyning, West Sussex. We and our traveling companion enjoyed the cozy... More

We've just returned from a family weekend in Steyning. We stayed (& partyed) at the hotel. Staff were attentive to our needs. The breakfast was exceptionally good & there was LOTS of it! All rooms were clean & there was clear evidence of personal attention to detail. Some rooms were quite quirky which added to the charm of the place.... More

I stayed in the Pine room - top floor corner (single bed) room. Cozy attic room with slanting ceilings. Comfortable bed. One small window lets in fresh air. Very cute but if you're American, don't expect to stand up in the shower. The bath has a handheld shower head, but the water pressure makes it all but useless (I washed... More

We were walking the South Downs Way and this was our first stopover. The hotel is easy to find coming into Steyning from the SD Way and has the added touch of being very pretty from the outside. We were welcomed by a very friendly member of staff who immediately offered us a free glass of Prosecco - wow! The... More

I arranged a my friends hen do at this hotel with a craft event arranged by karon foxwell. Phillipa and Jackie were so accommodating with allergies and also adding an extra person on the day. They were very helpful and friendly. I would really recommend this hotel for a classy, crafty hen do!

We were looking for a convenient 'stopover' and got so much more - lovely staff, very pleasant room and an excellent breakfast. We were welcomed with a glass of Prosecco on arrival which we enjoyed in the great little bar/conservatory. There is also a lounge with TV if you wish to join other guests. Kippers and smoked salmon with scrambled... More

What more could you want on arrival from a rainy day walking on the 'south downs' than a glass of fizz - then later a generous cheese platter. Lots of charm, friendly staff and delicious and generous breakfast.
