Very welcoming bed and breakfast. Ideal for a family break. Perfect location. Lovely family room. Great breakfast room and very good breakfast choice. Friendly owners. We took our 7 year old son's bike and he enjoyed cycling up and down the long drive.

We booked via Late Rooms.com and were uncertain what to expect, having travelled 430 miles from Cornwall. But what a delight! A guest house with bags of character. We had the superior room, which was large and comfortable with lovely views over the moors. The bed king size with crisp white bed linen. The en-suite was clean with an excellent... More

We enjoy staying here as we are great fans of heartbeat. Carole does a great breakfast and is such a warm and friendly host. The room is ideal for us as we are both not so good on our pins these days. Parking just feet from the door and a huge shower room . The atmosphere is comfortable and you... More

We've just spent our 4 th wet weather Wartime weekend with Carole and Bob and, once again, had a wonderful weekend being looked after by them. A wonderful Breakfast is served in the conservatory with plenty of banter between Carole and her guests. As a contrast to the modern conservatory, the rest of the house is full of character and... Well situated, lovely views, good breakfast. Paid for superior double but have stayed in much better for the money. The bed was comfortable, excellent sheets but bedspead was tatty and wanted replacing as did the headboard. The ensuite needed attention, mould evident in several places. We think the room and ensuite just wanted redecorating and maybe the annex would have... More

Thank you for your comments. The room you stayed in is popular with guests and a re-vamp is planned during the winter. Unfortunately, during the summer months we like to open the windows, and this results in a lot of insects in the conservatory. We appreciate your concerns and will be more aware for future guests. We booked into the Beacon as it was 50yds from the Mallyan Spout (fully booked) where we normally stay when in the area and rate highly. I reasoned that we could still make use of the Mallyan Spout’s restaurant /bar etc of an evening and then stay overnight and breakfast at the Beacon. I mention this only as it gives... More

Just the best Guest House. We had three lovely days in North Yorkshire. Carole, who runs the guest house is amazing. Nothing is too much for her. The rooms we had were lovely and comfortable and very clean. Lovely clean cutlery and plates. The breakfast was brilliant, kept us going all day. The guest house is located in a beautiful... More

We have been staying at the Beacon for about 7 years now - sometimes twice a year, Carol always finds space for us, and we even ask if "our room" is available as we have stayed so many times, we have also introduced the in-laws to "Carols" as we call it, and will be visiting again this month with the... We enjoyed a two night stay at the Beacon and were very happy with our accommodation. There were 4 of us travelling together so we had 2 very large double rooms. The breakfast was great and it was a pleasant walk into the town...loved the sheep wandering around! Carol certainly made us feel welcome. I have already recommended my friends stay... More
