The Beacon is a lovely quaint guesthouse right on the edge of the Goathland moor. Could watch the sheep and lambs from our hotel window. Host Carol is very welcoming and gave us lots of tips for walks we could do on the moors. Breakfast was nice and gave us a taste of the local quisine. I definitely recommend!

The breakfast is delicious and plentiful, cooked freshly to order. The rooms are spacious and the biggest bed I've ever slept in.There is a really nice restaurant and pub is... More

Just back from a weeks stay at The Beacon. Rooms were excellent, and the breakfast was tailored made to your own requirements, within the usual cooked breakfast offerings. The perfect start to the day with the breakfast you want in a nice environment. The Beacon enjoys views of the moors from all sides, and the breakfast room overlooks both lawn... More

We stayed on 24th, 25th and 26th June and enjoyed our stay. The room was spacious and as we were given a family room we had a second children's room spare, so useful to store the cases in and not have to keep them around the bedroom. The view was great, looking towards Goathland and open country. Breakfast was cooked... More

Carol is a great host and very accommodating, we have a very nice room with gorgeous views. Breakfast was very well cooked with a great selection of cereals, fresh fruit and other yummy things. Carol is very engaging in conversation and likes a laugh. The private car park is great, I felt my car was safe at night. We are... More

When we arrived Carole showed us to our accommodation which I really liked, it was clean and fresh and roomy. Alas my sleep was disturbed by my friends using the bathroom during the night as my bedroom door and bathroom door were opposite each other. The outside annex ( we were put in ) would be better suited to a... More

We stayed here a while back ((before the drop-down menu options) which may preclude this being posted, but if it does appear, bear this in mind). It was an off-chance walk-up request as we had not planned on staying over in the area and we had spent the day travelling around. We were offered a couple of options, including the... More
